Thank you for all you great suggestions on being useful. You are inspiring. I get a deluge of e-mails asking for donations— they are always desperate. James Carville suggested one donate to races that have a chance. How does one figure out the best chances? Especially since I am a senior with very limited resources.

I think I am going to put together a page of places I think are good to give. In the meantime I always recommend Wisconsin Democrats, as that state will be pivotal in so many ways in both 2022 and 2024--you can give here https://wisdems.org. I also HIGHLY recommend giving to DASS (as I said yesterday) https://demsofstate.org. Also Robert Hubbell and his wife and I are about to launch a giving circle for the AZ statehouse races. Stay tuned. We are going to try to raise 50K to flip the AZ statehouse--but it will also help with Mark Kelly's Senate race and the very-important SOS and Governor's races in that state. Hope these help!

Thank you I look forward to your list! I will be giving to my ME representatives and Govenor. The bulk of messaging is coming from Georgia and Florida-- Stacey Abrams and Val Demings. I had not considered Wisconsin-- good idea. And had not heard of DASS-- will check it out!

Stacey Abrams is always good but I think she is VERY well funded.

Great! Here's a TikTok I just made on why Secretary of State races matter so much https://www.tiktok.com/@jesscraven101/video/7059523379577244975?is_from_webapp=1&sender_device=pc&web_id7016399297466893829.

I also think Josh Shapiro's race for Governor in PA is really important. We need Dem Governor's in swing states --it'll be crucial going into 2024. https://secure.actblue.com/donate/josh-shapiro-for-pa-search?refcode=Google_101321_responsivead&gclid=Cj0KCQiA0eOPBhCGARIsAFIwTs7NqViXZjoRY1vVUN00CnNaZW01M0vW4CwKOG5peY-IwmtDmqyAlbYaAi2XEALw_wcB

MoveOn.org has begun to tackle the state secretary of state issue; I've been donating to DASS for months and wonder if they make better use of my donation than MoveOn.org would. Any opinions or knowledge on that issue?

Not sure. I personally will donate straight to them, as I assume they know best how to spend what they make. But 🤷🏽‍♀️ I'm not super sure!

I've posed that same question to Third Act in more general terms; it would be so helpful to have some objective evaluation of the effectivity of donations to various groups within a particular cause. 501c3s have Charity Navigator; we have nothing that I'm aware of.

This is the second time I'm hearing of Third Act in the last hour. What are they?

Third Act is a group being formed by Bill McKibben and others focused on support by the over-60 crowd and intended to address Democracy issues and Climate Change (McKibben's long-time cause). You can find out more at ThirdAct.org.
