Thanks again, Jessica, for all you and everyone in the pro-democracy world do and continue to do for America. Regarding Pfeiffer's commentary, I have struggled for so long with fear and anxiety about next year's election, and the possibility of (God forbid) a second TFG term. Just all the horrible and evil things he and his conspirators have talked about in the past few days (and even before that) have made me so scared.
At times I have even felt like we're facing something much worse than tyranny if they get back in (ex. "TFG and the GQP will end the human race faster than climate change, AI and any medical virus could ever do, we'll all die on day 1 if they get back in"). I don't want to feel this way every day. I don't want to feel like all is lost 11 months out from next year. I want to just carry on with resilience and the knowledge that victory is in our hands if we work for it.

If you’’re able , could you promote this special election in January. As Simon Rosenberg says, Tom Keen is a great candidate who can, and should win! He is running for the seat( HD-35,Orlando area) vacated when DeSantis “coronated” his GOP Rep buddy(with no upper Ed experience) to be prez of South Fl State College…sigh.

I am hoping you can provide some help on an important to me, and to many others. To fully participate in the zoom webinars, discussions and events, I require closed captioning. I have found that, because zoom does not make it easy to enable closed captioning, many hosts don't have the option available for participants. And many hosts, including countless organizations, don't even think of this accessibility need to allow those of us with hearing impairments to fully participate.
When I can (and I know others do as well) we try to reach out to the host to ask that this option be included in the zoom settings for guests. Too often, it is not and, as a result, our participation is very limited. I have also tried reaching out, directly to Zoom, asking them to make closed captioning available as a default for the settings on the screen. So far, I haven't been able to reach anyone who can help with this.
Because you reach so many people, and because you are so considerate of your entire community, I am hoping you can help: PLEASE, let all the organizations that reach out to you, asking people to participate by zoom, to make sure that closed captioning is available. Only the host can activate this option and it has to be enable BEFORE the start of any zoom session.

My biggest issue is that several of the subs I read, the authors don't moderate their own comments very well. Or if they do, people just create new accounts to wreak havoc.
I am definitely a podcast person. Great to hear this interview And yes, I do appreciate the pep talk every day! It's great to read for myself and also to have that language ready to go when people are discouraged or say there's nothing we can do. Oh YES there is!!
Salley Mavor is an incredible fiber artist. She has an exhibition at the Southern Vermont Arts Center in Manchester VT through January 7. Jessica, so yesterday I received a rather thick envelope with colorful stickers all over it. No return address. I reluctantly opened it to find 4 sheets of paper that were talking about how horrid Trump was and the nasty things he has said about people. Everything is typed out (oh and my address was too!) and cartoons copied. At the very top of each page, in fine print, states how “courageous I am for speaking out” and it goes further into stating that they are basically too shy to do so thus, they want anonymity. This totally CREEPS ME OUT! The postmark is from Evansville, Indiana. I am on several Substacks. Do I need to change my name to an alias?

WHAT? That is incredibly weird. And yes, creepy. I’m not sure what to advise. Very, very odd.
