I can so relate to the reaction you got from people, saying they "hope" you are right. I get that all the time from people I know. And it's paired with this half-quizzical, half-skeptical look that tells me they don't really believe there is hope. It runs counter to everything else they have been reading and hearing from "reputable" sources. I think that when they say 'I hope you're right', they haven't really started to hope themselves yet.

When I talk to people about being an activist, I feel like I've become the messenger of hope - I actually believe we will have a blue tsunami!!). It seems that a lot of people are lost in fear and hopelessness. I tell them why I believe we can win, and I tell them that taking action will make them worry less, but as a society we have not yet gotten it through our heads that democracy requires action. It is not a spectator sport! We need to keep chipping away at people's attitudes and fear, while of course we continue plugging away at getting out the vote.

That's right, Marilyn!

I called both of my Senators today and reminded them that the former president and failed insurrectionist wasn't a Missouri citizen and couldn't vote for them while I was and wouldn't if they didn't support the bipartisan agreement on the border and supplemental appropriation. Of course, I wouldn't vote for either of them anyway, but I didn't feel required to mention that.

Good Morning Jessica, Tik Tok is a serious demographic and just yesterday, Rick Wilson was talking about breaking in to that subset of social media also. The Lincoln Project is getting deep into understanding the S.M. algorythms but is still trying to get moving on Tik Toc. If you have it figured out, he might appreciate some suggestions.

As always, you keep us pointed in the right direction.

Thank you Jessica for you continued great direction! You make this so easy for us all to get engaged. As Sarah Longwell, the Publisher of the Bulwark says: "You cannot roll up your sleeves when you're wringing your hands!" Let's do this!

I have a question. I signed up for the Postcards to Swing States zoom mtg. I have written postcards with addresses and directions from other groups too. Do all these great organizations that use volunteers to postcard have some sort of sharing system so that there is no redundancy? How about the ones that use phone banks? Thanks!

Really good question. They're all pulling from the same voter files, so I assume there is overlap, and I don't think they coordinate. Having said that, there's no such thing as too many hand written postcards to a low-propensity voter, right? (:

What I like about PTSS is that they use "social pressure" messaging, which is data-proven to create the largest bump in turnout.

Yes, repetition is good! I just hope as many people as possible are reached.

Ooh this is so great but it seems outdated. Hasn't Biden created 14 M jobs now? I wish they would update the list!

Hi Doc,

Thank you so much for reaching out. The changing of the maps is certainly intentional on behalf of the Republicans to sow as much chaos as possible. It's incredibly confusing to voters and frankly, it's just wrong.

I love your idea for a commercial. I'll be sharing that with my team.

Thank you again for your continued support.

Take care,

Chuck

Howard Coble, a Republican, old school, used to represent us in Siler City in Congress. He was on the Armed Services Committee. As is Jeff Jackson now, but not running for Congress again as gerrymandered out of his district. I sent Howard a suggestion as to how to change the trajectory of the anti missile missile and the missile defense system started working! One GOP Congressman who was effective. Hope you prove to be effective when you replace Virginia Foxx. BTW, Jeff's emails are very effective too. Like the style of this email from you.

You should see how Chatham County has been split this time. I live on a cattle and sheep ranch about 3 miles east of town and south of Hwy 64. David Price has represented us too, but in my 60 years here we have been shuffled around so many times, I have lost count! Gosh, don't even know who is the Democrat running against the incumbent!

A tactic you might try is having groups of supporters run TV "I like Chuck" spots with THEM being the ones ON TV and you saying"I approve this commercial and show your picture. Those should be easy with current technology. They could run the spots as often as they could afford to do so. Your staff do the ground work; provide a contact name and number and TV station. Even short spots and less expensive odd hours helps put Chuck Hubbard's name out there. They could say anything you asked, including neighborhoods you will represent. An electronic yard sign. Watch ball games; everybody wants to be on TV!! To paraphrase Descartes, "Je televisio, donc je suis".

Sent Jeff a (to me) big chunk of money, so will have to check the bank statement to put my money where my mouth is. Love, Doc
