I love Rachel’s comment about developing an ongoing relationship with our Congresspeople as a way of “shaping their behavior”. I used to raise puppies for a local service dog org., and shaping behavior is a core concept in dog training…..and we also know it works on people as well…..so why not incorporate that into our political life?! Great idea, and I’m gonna work on that! Thanks!

Simon Rosenberg spoke yesterday about “teaching” our Congress people by encouraging them to use new ways of communicating and pointing them toward new resources, such as his group at Hopium and our group here to support them and amplify their messages. He’s taken a page from your book, Jessica, and Indivisble, and is urging the Hopium community to make calls several times a week to their Congressional reps, especially to oppose these terrible nominees. I’m thrilled to see how this growing!

Do those who object to D.E.I. also object to nepotism ?

I am so very disappointed to see that my newly elected Democratic Representative voted in favor of the Laken Riley Act. I have written her an email expressing my sense of betrayal, anger and confusion about her decision to do so and have asked that I receive a response back.

THANK YOU for sharing the indivisible tip about calling and thanking or chiding our officials. I did the latter yesterday when I found out my Congresswoman voted FOR the Laken Riley Act. I was stunned and heartbroken. I emailed and called and said as much.

I also called to thank one of my Senators for changing his vote from YAY TO NAY on Laken Riley Act. I called and emailed him a few times after he voted YAY and was pretty stern how dangerous it was.

Finally, I called my amazing Senator, Chris Murphy, and was practically in tears thanking him for all that he's been speaking out and up against with the various atrocities happening with oligarchs, nominees, and January 6th.

Before I contacted my senators, I visited their websites to check whether they had issued any statements about the J6 pardons, Hegseth or anything else. Since I did find such statements, I checked their feeds on Blue Sky and found statements there too. So, I turned my messages into loud, supportive expressions of “THANK YOU.”

FYI - Virginia has elections every year. This year ALL of our Delegates are up for election AND we will be electing a Governor. I hope your army of supporters will help us elect Democrats to every position!

Prefer to call and write my senators. My entire federal delegation is R; I do receive written responses from my R senators. The response may be frustrating. The response from your federal delegation can be instructive.

One tip: I have included responses from my US senators in letters to the editor, columns or social media.

Did all the actions before breakfast. Called California Dems re Laken Riley. Disgraceful. I worked for those seat flippers. And ballot cured. I gave them what for.

With regard to gas stoves, I'm sure a lot of people watch HGTV. When I hear home remodelers and prospective homeowners saying they just have to cook with gas, I wish the professionals involved would point out the alternative choice of (electric) induction stoves. They are more environmentally friendly and (from my own experience) more user friendly and easier to keep clean.

From the Seattle Times today: "A federal judge in Seattle blocked, temporarily, President Donald Trump’s attempt to rescind birthright citizenship — the idea spelled out in the Constitution that every person born in the United States is an American citizen."

"Senior U.S. District Judge John Coughenour on Thursday was blistering in his criticism of Trump’s action as he granted a temporary restraining order that blocks Trump’s executive order from taking effect nationwide."

I bought several boxes of Girl Scout cookies from a Scout on Erin's list who's Gold Award Project focuses on "educating teachers on gender diversity and inclusive practices." I love this and am glad I can support them.

Hello everyone. Was very disappointed on Laken Riley Act passing the House. Indivisible WA teams are going to have to talk to their two DEM reps that voted yes (WA 08 and WA 01). My rep voted no and I had called several times about it.

I wanted to boost a very important election coming up. WI Supreme Court Justice. I'm supporting Susan Crawford and have donated and will be writing postcards as well. Today Elon Musk weighed in on the race telling his followers to vote Republican.

Election is on April 1st.

Reading the list of amazing youths on Erin's list for Girl Scout cookies is so heartwarming. And if we don't really want the calories, we can purchase cookies for the Scout to donate locally. Win-win!
