So weasely of the Republicans to vote against the paid sick leave days for the rail workers, since all Congressional representatives have an unlimited number of sick days. (couldn’t think of a better word than weasely. its been a long day)
Hi. Thanks for this group and for all you do. Hope you feel better soon. Any chance you could offer the calls to our Senators and Reps as a Resist Bot function? I copy and paste to the person’s comment page each day as i don’t like calling them. Would save me a lot of filling out the forms. Thanks.
I'm so sorry, I didn't meant to step on your toes! I was under the impression that they counted the number of calls/emails they receive on a single issue. Is calling more effective than emails, then?
I think there is a general sense that the more direct the contact, the more effective. And I didn’t feel any stepping on my toes at all! I recognize how much easier it would be to just give everyone resist bot codes, but I really do want to encourage people to use their own voices whenever possible.
Hi Chuck, I'm with you! I simply open the email on my phone and copy/paste it to them. For the Senators, I use the keyword "Senate", which then prompts you to choose which senator (or both) to send the email to. You can do the same thing with the keyword 'Representative'. I've also sent texts to POTUS! It involves a little editing of the wording to remove the wrong gendered language, or the notes that Jessica puts in brackets, but its still preferable to calling, for me!
In the "Know your enemies" category of commentary, please be aware than in each of our communities there is likely a Salem Media radio outlet that does not prioritize any truths or equalities that I (we) recognize. Watch out for: https://salemmedia.com/conservative-media/
Yes, Lisa. Disturbing news. I don't pretend to understand the complexity of labor negotiations and legislative and executive branch roles in this context. Though the following is troubling enough.
Re: Forbes this evening:
"There were six Republicans who voted for the paid sick leave policy, but one Democrat — Sen. Joe Manchin (W.Va.) — who voted against it."
Joe Manchin, what on earth are you about? And who are you here to serve?
(Forgive if these questions are not new ... though the answers remain a mystery to me, as does Manchin.)

It’s a perfect word for it.
Thank you for providing these easy-to-use prompts and using Resistbot to enable us to send messages to our representatives!
Hope you get your energy back soon! Rest, rest, take naps as needed! 💜

Hi! I’m torn about this, as I don’t want to encourage folks to not call!
