We can't say our battle lines with the GOP/MAGA aren't crystal clear. Your top of the newsletter pic is perfect.

It's really weird, as in alternative universe wieird, that so many Americans want to follow MAGA, Trump, and SCOTUS right off the cliff into the Koch dog-eat-dog jungle..Ron DeSantis, the prison warden wanna be is dropping in popularity like a stone...M. Johnson and MAGA are headeding in the same direction.

Ironically, because if resignations and illenss, the Dems ared getting close to a majority in the House. Wouldn't that be a hoot if it happens before Nov....So much to do!! I'd say, first off, add judges to SCOTUS to bring a sane majority back before its too late.

It's honestly got to be our first order of business when we get full control back. As well as filibuster reform.

Thank you so much for including Healthcare Advocacy, Jess. I'm so glad you sent me the tip.

Your newsletter gives us hope.

yes. so many politicians prefer an issue to campaign about rather than a solution to a problem. Connect with Jeff Jackson who was gerrymandered out of his Congressional district and is now running for Attorney General in North Carolina. He was running for US Senate in 2022 and bowed out in favor of Cheri Beasley who lost to a Trumper. Jeff made a supporter out of me with his email reports on his experiences as a congressman. He is still in Congress.

Lauren Sausser is in Charleston, SC and writes the Health 202 section of the Washington Post from time to time. She is deep diving into "pre authorization" delays by insurance companies. Had written her earlier and again today. You may want to do so too. LaurenS@Kff.org

Dear Lauren Sausser, Thank you for your reply about the Medicare rule influencing a near fatal delay in my cardiac cath when I was accustomed to sending patients with such obvious angina straight to cath on my own say so.

But you did not mention any exploration of a solution I suggested. The Medical Care Restoration Act text is easy to access in Chapter 2 of "The Price Of Eggs Is Down" on Amazon Kindle or Paperback. Would love to have your opinion from the vantage you have earned with all your attention to "prior authorization". Text is all in large font on ten 5x7 pages. Keep it simple style.

Sincerely,

Aloha. Having raised three daughters, I've had some experience with pretty savage moms and I can only imagine the makeup of Moms for Liberty. Enjoy the sunshine and your family.

At a legal conference and the head of the FTC’s consumer division said junk fees (I’m

Including overdraft fees in this) are one of the biggest consumer complaints so this is a HUGE win!

Thanks for that. Can you explain briefly how Resitabot (sp) works? I put in an order for addresses for postcards. Thanks!

Morning Jess, A bunch of us gave you a lot of exposure on Heather's Letter last night. Hundreds of "Likes". You are a real deal out there.

OMG I'll have to go back and look! I got a *lot* of new subscribers last night and I was wondering where they came from. Now I know. THANK YOU! you guys are the best!

No, Jessica, YOU are the best and there are a lot of us who rely on you for the shit, if you know what I mean!!! You might enjoy the exchanges between Mary Hardt, me and a few others. I kept getting dozens of unknown "Likes". Kinda like from that email I showed you to WaPo Aaron Blake. I need to hit him again. He has yet to respond and I have not seen anything of his "The Campaign Moment". Maybe I shook him up enough that he dropped it. Did you ever look at his solicitation that I posted to your site, with my response? His mindless ego trip was pure bullshit.

Enjoy your afternoon. We are going to get real wet this weekend.

Oh, and I applied to be an LA County RR/CC poll worker for the March, 5 primary. I meant to ask you for a Dem Party contact to see about volunteering. I have a day or two free for a while.

Oh man I just read something else he wrote that was so obnoxious who is that guy?

In case you didn't have time to read what I sent him a while ago, in response to his insipid

"The Campaign Moment", here is my email to him.

Excuse me sir,

But why has it taken the Post so long to even mention the Fascist rhetoric, let alone the danger to our Constitution posed by Trump's backers and planners? This IS the NEWS, not partisanship.

This is THE number one issue of the 2024 election, because if Trump or a Republican wins, it will be our last election. They have told us clearly. Project 2025. Read it. Operation 47. Read it.

Only Trump loyalists in Civil Service and DOJ. Round us up. If someone says they are a Fascist, believe them. Your collective MSM silence is deafening.

Does this matter to you at all? I, and every loyal citizen of our Nation deserves a clear and honest answer from you and the WaPo management. This is not a horse race. What is at stake is all that matters, and our essential freedom and life itself is at stake, as well as your precious Freedom of the Press.

Do you understand?

This IS the Campaign Moment and the moment is NOW!!!

I referred to him in a comment on Jeff Tiedrich yesterday as Spit Wad. I had never hear of him but he made himself out to be "20 years of experience"d.

<aaron.blake@washpost.com> Ream him a new one too. I'll have to follow up also.

Again, can you refer me to someone at the party who could let me know how to get involved?

Thanks for this as always. As a long time supporter of J Street, I appreciate their thoughtful, balanced, nuanced pro-peace and pro-2 state solution approach more than ever. Thanks also for including the California school board races. As Moms for Liberty (or as I call them Moms for Bigotry) prepares to hold a high profile town hall in NYC this evening, we have to remain vigilant in opposing them wherever their candidates run for office. They are an anti-LGBTQ hate group and they want to ban books and censor voices that disagree with their narrow view of U.S. history and literature. If any of your readers are in NYC, they can join the rally in opposition to M4L and extremism this evening on the UES. https://mailchi.mp/votemarklevine.com/fundraising-deadline-7504601?e=8920e091be

Hi Ellen, I'm in California, but please take me with you in spirit! Moms for Liberty are anything but.

I'm actually missing the rally against Moms for Liberty because I am on a family trip to Hawaii to visit my daughter. But I am definitely there in spirit. Markers For Democracy met some of the parents from the Pennridge PA school district where Moms for Liberty took over in 2021 and imposed an extremist conservative curriculum. We wrote postcards for the candidates running against Moms for Liberty candidates and our candidates won. Moms for Liberty are dangerous because they convince people who don't know any better that they are just concerned moms and then they take over and impose their far right agenda.

The madradas need to go and real education put in place. I see little cooperation from Palestinians as they have been 'educated' to hate anyone who isn't Muslim. In all the suggestions made I dont see any that takes the social climate of Palestinians into account.

Yes. He is the worst. His rationale is that the only deal he'll accept is HR2, which is so draconian that it'll NEVER get through the Senate. But my guess is even if we gave him that he'd still block it. Trump is asking him to. Because Trump knows he can't win without immigration to run on.

I believe it is imperative to fund Ukraine and provide additional funding/resources on the border. Trump doesn't want it to pass so he can use the border as a campaign issue - and he doesn't want to do anything that hurts Putin.

I just called leader Hakeem Jeffries today to urge him to force a vote in the house on the bipartisan Senate bill on aid to Ukraine, Israel, Taiwan and Border funding when the bill is sent to the house.

Expand full comment

I agree that the Ukraine funding is imperative. Like, unbelievably important. As is the border funding. It's unbelievable that we're having to fight this hard for it.

Can't the Dems issue a dispatch petition to force a vote in the House?

It would surely pass!!!
