"Disappointed" wasn't the word I used when I called yesterday to discuss border policy with my Congresswoman's team. I was polite, but firm. Don't know that it will help, but it won't hurt.
Postcards to Voters is writing now for Tom Suozzi, they might need more help.
Haha I had the word "enraged" in the script, then decided to change it for my more circumspect readers. It's not the word I used, either. But I suppose some of us like a more measured approach.
At this point, with the House, the measure is getting really small. Patience with overpaid and underworked legislators is a virtue I never really developed. Maybe that's why they train their staff people to be nice.
I am committed to inspiring individuals to participate in voting, not only in the present year but in every election. Voting is both our privilege and our duty. Your Substack is incredibly valuable in this regard! If there's anything I can do to assist, please don't hesitate to reach out.
I have been in the background all along and consisrenly linked your Substack when peoole asked for information.
However, the ongoing trial involving E. Jean Carroll and President Trump, with his attendance, has deeply affected me. It raises horrific concerns about the potential implications for others if he can exert such influence in just this one case. It's frightening to consider what he has in store for the rest of us if reelected.
We must recognize the devil before us and act accordingly.
THANKS SO MUCH TO ALL OF YOU ON THE CWCW Newsletter for helping to put Tom Keen over to top in FL 35...This GOP/DeSantis defeat is another stride forward in rejecting the distopian, MAGA view of America I don't think Trump and his minions know what's coming at them this Nov.👍👍
While texting for Tom Keen a voter replied that I had the wrong number and anyway Florida votes Republican so what's the point. Guess he knows better now lol.
Thank you so much for your newsletters! A couple things: I wonder if you know of any efforts to get involved in an organized way to influence the mainstream media, with letters to the editor possibly, or social media. Something that Robert Hubbel suggested a while back. And secondly, if you've seen this: https://reframingamerica.substack.com which I think does a great, great job in helping reframe problems and issues. Which is so critical to fighting authoritarianism and fascism as both rely on a style of communicating... Thank you for all you do!
Hi, TSW. Yes, I am well aware of Antonia Scatton's work--I've been recommending her writing here for awhile. She is absolutely remarkable and her newsletter is a must-read. As for your first question, I am trying to put actions geared towards the MSM in the newsletter as often as I can. It's a big focus for me, but I have limited bandwidth. I encourage readers to send me any actions on this topic that they find. I will amplify them!
You are our inspiration!! You cheerlead us through so many issues crucial to our shared democracy. Thank you, Jess❣️
Aw, thanks, Sheila!
Thank you, as always, for your relentless advocacy.
And you for yours, Heather. Thanks!

Everything I can think of will be in the newsletter. So glad you're part of our team, Gloria!

It’s upset me too. Hang in there. We will defeat this guy.

Ha amazing. I absolutely love that.
You said it so well, Jessica! Inspired by you, I can't help but try this out: "Wins win more wins!!"
Huh. Maybe not a winner, but it's the truth!
I like it!
Thanks for including action on Child Tax Credits! Let's decrease child poverty once again!
There was something in yesterday's, too! I have a good feeling about this. We're going to get it done.
I did see that, and I so appreciate it.
