Hi, so sorry to hear about your daughter and COVID. And I want to tell you that I’m postcarding voters to go to the polls. They’re from Reclaim Our Vote and the Georgia NAACP. I sent out 100 in May, 40 before the midterm elections and am sending another 40 this week, with prayers.

I’m a brand new subscriber. I’m in the right place. I, like everyone else here, cannot understand violence, denial of human rights, and hate toward our fellow humans. I have made a personal choice to publicly decry these abominations. (Ask me about the grocery store incident of 9/13/2022). I will not stand quietly by while hate speech is being invoked, where disrespect is used against us or anyone unable to defend themselves. Nor will I any longer allow my government to relegate my gender to 2nd class citizens status. Tolerate the slaughter of innocents or mass murder of Americans based on preconceived notions of prejudice or discrimination.
Speedy recovery to your child, and as others have discovered, even in the same household it's still possible to avoid getting infected, if all of you can stand to wear N95s or KN95s, and test yourselves about every 2 days until no one is positive. Also of course strictly and consistently wash your hands, and avoid touching your eyes or face, and pretty much self-isolating. I'm sure you knew all that already but as a parent myself it's hard sometimes to resist giving advice when we care very much about the outcome.
Get lots of rest to keep yourself strong and healthy, and take care of yourself! 💜

Prepare to take the Covid meds! molnupiravir ~ was the alternate that I took just over a month ago. KThese took me from bedridden awful, unbalanced, & with razor blade sore throat---to like 12-18 hours later--feeling nearly normal.
Best to your daughter. Please stay well, good fortune to maybe escape Covid, & write as u can.
Don't think it's a given you'll get Covid. My son in law had it early in the pandemic, pre-vaccines and no one else in the family got it. He did not have a terrible case. He got it again a year later post vaccine with very mild symptoms. Again, no one in the family got it. My daughter and her kids finally got it this past fall, all vaccinated and pretty mild cases. We live next door, both over 70, fully vaxxed and boosted, and never got it! Lucky? Who knows. Keeping you family in my thoughts to get over this quickly.

Jess, updating you on the ripple effects of your amazing work. Many people (including me) hopped on this phone bank thanks to your amplification efforts and we were able to add more shifts so that we can contact more absentee ballot voters - many of whom have not yet received their ballot. We plan to contact all 45,000 to walk them through their options, which include canceling their absentee ballot and voting early in-person. I am hosting the 11am-1pm shift today and the 4-6pm shifts tomorrow and Sunday. What began as a valiant three-volunteer effort has now blossomed into a full-fledged voter protection campaign.
