I’ve always stuck by the saying: “when you’re going through hell, keep going.” 😏 I love that the Ukraines say ‘after the victory’. That’s beautiful and powerful.. words have consequences and impact perspective
So, I already wished you and yours, and CWCW in general a Happy Thanksgiving. But like chicken soup...it couldn't hurt to wish again!
Love those Ukranians. They remind me of ourselves (or so I've read) back in our Revolutionary times. We should pay them mind, if you know what I'm saying.
But, when I find myself in times of trouble - which is nearly every day, it seems - I look upon the Indigenous peoples of our land and the Americans who suffered through slavery and maybe worse after they gained their freedom, and I think to myself if they can survive it, so can I.
Thank YOU! What I love most is your weekly list of all the wonderful positive things that are happening all over the USA that we should be thankful for! And the little "ax" next to some, too! Oh, and making us aware of what's coming up in Congress and giving us a template to talk to our representatives. In the words of an old anti-racist, anti-war song: WE SHALL OVERCOME! Me, I just can't wait for January 20th, 2025! (There are more of US, than there are of THEM!)
Hi all of you! What a wonderful community. Thank you for your service and tenacity and love and ferocity and smarts and humor and honesty! I am uplifted every day. And Jess... to you: What a wonderful amazing woman you are and how grateful I am to you that I literally stumbled upon your website. You have kept me going day after day - active and involved in my country and my community. I have a part of myself that wants to stick my head in the sand, and I have never never succumbed after finding you, Robert Hubble and Heather Cox Richardson. This is the blessing of he internet, emails, and the digital age. HAPPY THANKSGIVING TO YOU ALL. I am so so grateful!
On a business note, I'm wondering if anyone else is having trouble getting postcard stamps. USPS has taken, so far, 4 days to deliver an order from Kansas City, MO to St. Louis. Drive time is roughly 5 hours. My local Post Office hasn't had them for a couple of months. One hopes that the shortage is due to the number of cards we've been sending.
After the victory. Try persuading "The Guardian" to use Putin's War instead of Russia/Ukraine War. Even though in substance they often called the was Putin's war.
Jess, may you and yours have a peaceful, soul-fulfilling Thanksgiving holiday. This is my personal favorite holiday of the year, and as we gather at the table, and express our thanks to each other, I will be quietly ( sometimes, my "quietly" can be heard across a large room!! ) giving thanks for all the work you do. And that you've allowed me to be a part of it. I am humbly thankful for this gift you've given.
Thanks, Jess, for all that you do to keep us in the loop and help our sanity. This T-Day, I will set a place at the table with a candle in remembrance of the Israelis killed, the hostages (hopefully released), and the many Palestinian people caught in the middle.

That’s too bad! Let me know if it keeps up and I can check my local PO for you.
Thanks Jessica.
