My wife’s letter which was sent in yesterday was just accepted by the The New York Times for tomorrow’s edition:

Dr. Mehmet Oz's unfitness for office is startling. He refused to accept that Joe Biden was fairly elected, joining the MAGA cult of election "deniers." even though he has recently started to deny his denial. Donald Trump, who has endorsed Dr. Oz, has already announced his intent to challenge an Oz loss in Pennsylvania. During the debate Dr. Oz made a breathtaking statement that ought to have been the headline — that abortion decisions rightfully belong to "women, doctors, local political leaders."

John Fetterman is successfully recovering from a stroke. His speech is impaired, but not his mind. What is wrong with Mehmet Oz cannot be cured.

Writing Greenpeace letters, door knocking for Katie and Jay, calls for Will Rollins, calling for Cortez Masto (spoke to TWO undecideds today), and for Beto and Mark Kelly and....I am sure there are more!!!!!

I canvassed for the second time this year for Democratic congressional candidate Christy Smith last Sunday, and I will be going again this Sunday. She’s running to represent a swing district just north of LA. I’ve had some great interactions with voters, including a couple of nice interactions with supporters of Christy’s Republican opponent. To me, those interactions are just as important. I want to leave a positive imprint in this divisive climate, so that when our exchange is over and I’m walking away they think “Hey, that guy was a really nice human being…” not some exaggerated caricature of a liberal generated by the media. I’m feeling very good about Christy’s chances in the same way I’m feeling good about Democrat’s chances overall. 100% not listening to the polls. Reactive never works, proactive is what we have to be! Go Blue!!!

This is EVERYTHING! I've already canvassed for Christy a couple of times and will go again next week--this Sunday I'm going for Katie Porter. Thanks for what you're doing!

I signed the petition to Penguin Books in opposition to ACB’s book deal as a reader and a member of two book clubs for totalling more than 75 years. I’d say that constitutes being a “member of the wider literary community in the United States”! 😏

Having worked for a major publisher for 45 years, I can tell you they never back down and proudly publish “both sides”. So glad I’m retired. But for sure, let them know.

Get involved! Democracy is not a spectator sport. Donate as much time and treasure as you can afford. It’s not an option. It’s our civic duty and moral obligation.

60 GOTV letters for Greenpeace here in CA, and my daughter signed up for another 30. Also contacted all my nieces and nephews to get them registered, 2 weren’t, and remind them to vote.

I really appreciate your comments as I walk neighborhoods and hand out lit. I have had many positive conversations, and a few still skeptical of Dems. And and occasional hostile person. But many of us in our grassroots group keep doing it!

I've been working with the Movement Voter Project to raise funds for local grassroots organizing. Getting out the vote is critical. I've also been organizing the writing of neighbor-to-neighbor postcards for our local state rep candidate.

Everybody is doing a great job.

I canvassed for Andy Kim (NJ-03) for two Saturdays;

Did 200 postcards with “Postcards to Swing States” going to PA tomorrow (did another 50 a month or so ago to PA);

Did 80 letters with “Vote Forward” to TX, AZ, NV, CA-47, MI, & GA (did another 40 for Tom Malinowski (NJ-07) a couple of weeks ago).

Did about 100 VoteRider letters earlier to WI, TX, GA, & AZ.

Phonebanked three times for WI & GA (I find that tough, maybe the NJ accent).

Hope to do texting and phone banking all the way into Nov. 8. Good luck all!

I've written 300 postcards to Georgia and just did 20 letters to NV after you mentioned it yesterday. Georgia postcards go out today and the NV out tomorrow. I also have been doing the Resist Bot. Very easy. Also have been calling my congress critters and emailing them.
