I came home last night after voting to find a precious girl of maybe 9 years of age running from the back seat of her car to put something on my door knob. It was 6:30 ish. I flagged the car down to find a young mom in the front seat, at the witching hour(dinnertime for kids) in her car delivering voting info to democrats to nudge us to early vote. I told her we had just voted and how much I appreciated her efforts on behalf of saving our democracy. We are surrounded by Angels doing the good hard work. I begin my work as poll observer tomorrow. I'm praying for fairness, accuracy and safety for all of the volunteers at the voting sites. Thank them when you go in. Now let's do this, guys!
Out in Ohio for a few days to visit my fiancé. The one road that only had republican signs for the special election last year. I drove down that same road yesterday and saw all but 2 flipped to having Democrat signs including for Harris/walz. This is in deep red Ohio. The change is real and people are fired up
Posrcarding for MI judges through Postcards2Voters. They have 6 campaigns going right now and welcome all comers.
Bay leaf is the best known member of the laurel family and is edible although a little bitter which is why it's usually removed from dishes after contributing its flavor. The rest of the family is, at worst, not poisonous, but is perhaps better reserved for wreathes like the one Kamala Harris will be wearing on Nov. 6.
The big news of the week is that the St. Louis Post-Dispatch has endorsed Lucas Kunce in his race for the U.S. Senate seat currently held by some guy named Hawley who says he's a Christian Nationalist and is opposed to reproductive freedom of choice among other things.
I’m doing the same postcards for the Michigan judges this weekend. And I just got word from BallotTrax that my mail-in ballot has been received and processed, and my votes have been counted.
I am now living in Costa Rica, But registered in Missouri. I was visiting my daughter September and first week of October. I voted absentee the first day they allowed it!!
Agreed. Not as impactful as it once would have been, Joe Pulitzer is long gone from the Post, but great news none the less. Dr. Google doesn't remember who the Post endorsed the last time Hawley ran.
We are doing the usual this weekend--GOTV postcards (Activate America) and letters (Vote Forward), and still texting daily to register voters via Field Team 6. Except, doing more. No sitting down to a jigsaw puzzle, no Saturday night at the movies. Can't do that now when there is election work to do! We are going to a potluck lunch on Saturday, but otherwise, busy at the writing table throughout the weekend. We are ages 77 & 84 and passing on door-knocking, but writing we can do!
I am a bus captain for a Los Angeles to Las Vegas canvass this weekend with Grassroots Democrats HQ and Harris/Walz. We leave early Saturday morning and return Sunday evening. We are knocking on doors to help elect Harris/Walz and re-elect Senator Jacky Rosen! LFG!!! There are bus trips from LA to Nevada every weekend and all expenses are paid!
I'm a little limited on things I can do because of health, BUT, I have donated to senate races in Arizona, Michigan, Wisconsin, Texas and Montana, the House race for AZ for the first Native American with a chance at being elected. I ordered post it's from Etsy to post like crazy as soon as they get here. And, I have posted signs in the trailer park I live in offering to drive Anyone to their local polling place between now and the election. I don't feel it is all that much, but with newly diagnosed COPD I still have crappy out of breath days. Praying for a BIG BLUE Tsunami 💙 🙏
I am canvassing for Sherrod Brown in Cincinnati tomorrow and if I'm not to worn out after, I'll try to write some Vote Forward Letters for Ohio (I've already written some but I want all of them to go out! and there are 39,000 left).
Thank you Jess!!! Because of this newsletter I came to Mecklenburg County and am canvassing today, tmrw and Sunday.
Also thanks for the Flip the Vote shout out yesterday. All are invited to learn more about an easy/fun way to support relational organizing efforts in the battlegrounds: https://www.flipthevote.org/events
It was great to see such a turnout! Although I’m not sure if that was a reflection of the fact that four polling stations were integrated into two, leaving only 5 polling stations 🥴.
Still writing postcards for Will Rollins; will do it until there is no time left. Will phonebank both Saturday and Sunday, giving it all my willingness because it is just the hardest things for me to do. My vote has been received and counted. Leaving now to wave signs at the highway intersection and endure the middle fingers and diesel exhaust of the boys in their pickups.
I’m in Florida and amazingly, we still have a cure process.😎 Today I was walking into our local Aldi (in my MAGA county) when a woman complimented my Harris/Walz t-shirt.I thanked her and encouraged her to vote early. She reached in her bag and handed me three Vote/Kamala 🇺🇸beaded bracelets! 💙💙💙
I'm in Mecklenburg County NC. Yesterday and today I volunteered as a poll greeter at one of the 33 early voting sites, handing out MeckDems "blue ballots." Lots of takers!
Now my wife and I have two friends visiting from Boston to help with the election (and several more, were full up through Nov 5 with out of state volunteer friends).
Tomorrow we go canvassing to get out the vote. Then later in the day back to poll greeting. The voters are very excited to put this era behind us
A bunch of us are carpooling from Claremont to CA41 to knock doors for Will Rollins tomorrow, then heading down to CA45 on Sunday to do the same for Derek Tran. We’ve been at it for months but the energy now is intense. Flipping these districts is key to winning the House. We can do this!!!!
Could someone let the Harris / Walz and some other campaigns know that fear-based ads are getting old? I won't stop donating, but I must say that the ads I got today from Tester and Osborn were refreshingly neutral to battle-worthy without warning me about being overspent and outvoted by the Felon Fuhrer. Thanks. Back to the last postcards for justices for the Michigan Supreme Court!
Yes, I got one that claimed to be from Harris/Walz two days ago claiming they are down 4 points now! My first thought was about all those grassroots volunteers who might feel, "sheesh, with all the postcards I have written since June and all the donations I've made, our numbers are slipping ? I GIVE UP!" I am one of those volunteers, but I won't give up...but the messaging is defeatist!
I did phone banking in Pennsylvania and it was not awful! People were polite or just hung up. And several people enthusiastically were voting for Harris, but did not understand the value of voting for Bob Casey for Senate. So I might’ve done some good.
Also, I just printed up my own notes to tape on bathroom doors! I’m now carrying a supply in a small roll of tape in my purse
I was one of the 353,166 to vote on the first day of early voting in NC. All told, it took about 90 minutes to wait in line to vote. The process moved smoothly; thank goodness the fall day on the coast was beautiful. I vote early to remove myself from possible long lines on Election Day, which is the only day some people can vote. I also vote early because Louis DeJoy wrecked the postal service, and I don’t trust that a mail in ballot would arrive on time. Since 2020 my rural mail service has been VERY erratic. Sometimes there’s no mail at all. The hold mail order when we go out of town is worthless. My neighbors find mail in my box. I can live with a delay of an Amazon order, but not a voting ballot.

Hey would one of you email me their proposed script or talking points? I'd like to use it to make a TikTok. hijesscraven101@gmail.com
Hope you got this already. It's a good one cause it's short and clear.

Amazing Debra thank you!
I was at a fundraiser for Lucas Kunce this week. He’s a good candidate and I was impressed with his answers to everyone’s questions.
That is HUGE!

Oh my gosh! Say hi to everyone at Meck Dems for me, please! And let me know how it went!
I’m a volunteer and will be working the polls in Wilmington NC on Saturday
Thank you, Julia! How did it go?

Ballot curing for Pennsylvania is critical ! There are only 15 states with signature cure processes.
