Jessica, your introduction today was a masterpiece. Thank you for holding us up and keeping us sane. You are doing the work of five people. I also really like the picture of Satan, uh, I mean Gym.
The suggestion you made to read Antonia Scatton's blog was right on! It's brilliant!! I'm currently volunteering with Field Team 6 doing social storming using Twitter, et al. Antonia's explanations of the use of trigger words will be of much help. I think we sometimes use words automatically, without thinking about the effect on our listeners. She should be required reading for all of us working to save our democracy from MAGA extremists.
Thank you so much, Jessica, for providing the list of 20 "No on Jordan" members yesterday, and for urging everyone to call them with encouragement to stay the course. That needs to continue.
As you and many readers here know, we at www.FeathersOfHope.net have been advocating for a bipartisan coalition to elect a "traditional Republican" Speaker for several months. Our contact list is somewhat different from yours, but many names are in common. Most prominently, Don Bacon (R-NE) is one whom we have been promoting as a potential consensus Speaker.
I'm curious why you would not favor Rep. Bacon, and whom you would favor. I understand that he holds views with which progressives disagree. But that's the case with any Republican.
Mr. Bacon first proposed working with Democrats to find an agreeable compromise candidate even before Kevin McCarthy's marathon balloting in January. Since then, he's repeatedly suggested that solution. He represents a district President Biden carried decisively, and he has the experience and skills necessary to actually do the job, rather than merely being a caretaker. Most importantly, unlike the MAGA insurrectionists, he's committed to protecting and defending the institution of the House of Representatives. If there's someone better suited, who would that be? Thanks.
I am very leery of the Problem Solver’s caucus in general as they are pushing the No Labels scheme that could well elect Trump. Having said that Bacon is at least if the course to stand up for our democracy and I do appreciate that. And I don’t know *who* would be the ideal choice. I’ll let you know once I settle on that. In the meantime it’s looking more like McHenry than anyone.

That’s kind of you to say, Janet. Thank you.

I agree. I learned so much! Glad you enjoyed!
The only reason I caught it was cause I was tracking who I'd called the day before thanks to YOU!❤️
Two Republicans who'd previously voted against him changed their vote, La Malfa and Spartz.
Oh really? So 4 Republicans who hadn't voted against him before did? Not two?
Correct
Issued a correction. Sloppy of me sorry.
You are amazing...no one could possibly keep this madness straight.
I agree! She is Wonder Woman!

At least *willing.* total typo and I can’t edit as I’m on my phone.
I’m confused as to why it’s difficult to understand that genocide is bad. Please take a look at the call to action from Jewish Voice for Peace.
Can you post it here?

Thanks!
Jess, where can I find your Chop Wood Carry Virginia page of actions specific to VA?
