I just mailed my 200 postcards from Moms Rising to Florida residents to remind them to vote. Hopefully, those affected by the hurricanes (two already, damn) will still find a way to vote! Three hundred more postcards go out next week to AZ voters via Postcards to Swing States. AZ early ballots went out on October 9; I haven't received mine yet but I'm expecting it tomorrow. It will be returned ASAP and I'll track it --and hubby's-- online to make sure it's received and which batch it's in to be counted. LET'S DO THIS!
I just signed up for the Phone banking for introverts training. This week I’ll also be doing more voter registration.
I’m preparing now for Yom Kippur. This has been a period for me of tremendous reflection - on Israel and on my identity as an American Jew. We reflect on the impact our deeds may have had on others over the past year. Jess, I don’t think I know many other human being who have had as profoundly positive an impact on so many people throughout this country as you have. You lift us up and keep us going forward. I’m grateful.
I've been doing GOTV canvassing in NC each weekend. This weekend I'm going on my first persuasion canvass. Going to talk to a list of Republican voters who might vote for a Dem or two to protect reproductive rights. Nervous and excited (but mostly nervous)!
Not sure if I'd seen her book mentioned previously here or on another site, but I ordered Chur's The Joy of Talking Politics with Strangers a few weeks ago. Reading it gave me the courage to jump from GOTV to persuasion!
Our "grandparent + others" group here in Denver wrote 700 Blue Wave Movement postcards to North Carolina last night. Next week we will write 1,000 for Caraveo, CO-08. This weekend I'll do some more Vote Forward letters and on Sunday afternoon may canvass for Caraveo in Greeley, CO. And, most important, tomorrow my husband and I will return, by Priority Mail, our New Hampshire absentee ballots! (We live in NH, but we're in Denver a lot, since we have grandchildren here).
I will finish my 500 postcards this weekend. I sent 100 to my friend so between us we’re doing 600. 500 to Ohio and like 92 to New York. The other 8 are going to PA, NC and Fl. I also already did 250 postcards over the summer most went to AZ to help Gallego. That being said I am very angry about our role in war in Lebanon and Gaza. I have loved ones in that area and I worry every day they’re going to be killed. I just read today that the Biden Administration is abandoning peace talks and instead going all in on the war. I hope that’s wrong, but it would fit with this administration’s habit of treating Arab Americans like a problem to be worked around instead of fellow concerned citizens who want their loved ones to be safe. I’ll vote for Harris and I’ll do it on day one because I’m responsible, but I just don’t know why Biden and Harris treat my people like this.
Omar I share your anger and frustration. I'm so sorry for all of your suffering and that of your loved ones. Keeping you and them in my prayers. I hate the carnage; every day it goes on is a gut punch.
I share your joy, pride and excitement to have voted early this week! It felt extraordinary. This weekend, I’m very excited to be traveling from CA to AZ for 3 days of canvassing in the purplest of districts for Harris/Walz, Gallego, Shah, AZ LD-2, and to enshrine abortion rights in the AZ state constitution!! On the margins I’ll be finishing up some GOTV postcards for Activate America in PA & CA CD-13.
Thank you Jess!!! I just signed up to go to Mecklenburg county next weekend!!!! (Bc of the video from last Saturday which I watched twice and still can’t stop thinking about) I’m writing Vote Forward letters to my neighboring state of Georgia before Yom Kippur begins, and making my teenagers each write two. (More letters next week with my letter group at a brewery)
AND I’m presenting at a Flip The Vote election countdown party on Sunday evening. It’s an amazing group raising money for partner orgs doing the best relational organizing and GOTV in swing states! Would love for any of you to Join me! https://www.flipthevote.org/events
Before Hurricane Milton struck, mailed my 60 postcards for the Yes on 4 campaign here in Florida to restore abortion rights, and another 20 for Sherrod Brown via Postcards to Voters. Tomorrow morning canvassing for Rachel Grage, a terrific Democrat running to represent my district in the Florida legislature, Saturday & Sunday afternoons - more canvassing for Rachel & for Measure 4. Plus knocking doors in my neighborhood to meet fellow Dems and offer them slate advice if they want it under Indivisible's Neighbor to Neighbor effort. Oh, and finishing our mail-in ballots today & getting them posted tomorrow morning!
I love your video so much. And Jason Berlin’s. We live in Oregon, and I’m eagerly awaiting our ballots. The local down ballots are disappointing because, for example, Julie Hoy, who won the primary for mayor of Salem, is right wing. She unseated the liberal Chris Hoy; they’re not related, but who knows if people got confused? Salem, like all of OR, despite being a blue state, has pockets of red. I won’t vote for her, but she’s uncontested now. And finding information about the non-partisan judges is so difficult. And the ballot measures 🙄.
I just mailed my postcards to Pennsylvania this afternoon. It was a great feeling. And I’ve donated to Tester, Brown, Allred, Murcarsel-Powell, Gallego, and the Mecklenburg Democrats after I watched you and Robert Hubbell interview Drew Kromer. And Harris/Walz of course. And Osborn. Never feels like enough.
Jessica. I hope you will feature Dan Osborn's U.S. Senate race in Nebraska. He's an independent running against a die-hard Republican, Deb Fischer. Polls show he has a good chance to win! SO important to deprive the R's of a Senate seat in hopes the Dems will control the Senate. He will likely vote with the Dems on many important issues. I donated to his campaign after a call yesterday that Robert Hubble hosted with 31st Street Swing left. Osborn sounds terrific.
I’ve got a fundraiser for him coming up in the newsletter early next week. I’m hosting it in fact. I’ve been aware of Osborne for almost a year and I think he’s a really exciting candidate.
Texted today with BlackPAC, MomsRising, Color of Change, and ACLU MI. Picking up the last of my Spanish-writing postcards tomorrow - can only do a few due to visual issues - and texting both Sat & Sun. Attended today's fundraiser and donated (again lol) to Debbie & Colin. Great event. I tried to share the Jill Stein ad but can't figure out how to copy and paste without a link - sorry.
I’ve done about 200 postcards. Mostly with Postcards to Voters but also Markers for Democracy. Writing another 50 this weekend to register young people in PA.
Sorry all the Resistbot code is SIGN PJEWPA

Writing postcards to Native voters in AZ and working on my substack. Thanks for your incredible work!
Thank you! That’s such an important campaign.
Yup… just mailed mine

Omg good luck! You should read today’s Grassroots Connector! It would be perfect!

I'll be phone banking for George Whitesides in the morning, and then text banking with Field Team 6

Did you try a blue voter guide? It’s so helpful. Bluevoterguide.org
I will. Thank you Jess.

Not surprised you are totally on top of this one. Go, go, girl. Glad you had such a good time voting.
I voted early, too. Feels SO GOOD.
We voted the first day we could here in New Mexico!
