Speaking of polls. (sorry .... ) the Quinnipiac poll of blue wall states that has people freaked out shows Trump ahead by ten (10) points with 18-29 year-olds ( ... or 18-34 can't remember the upper end) in Michigan in early October.
Yet the SAME EXACT POLL just three weeks ago showed HARRIS up EIGHTEEN (18!!) with the same age group. How can there be a 28 point swing in Trump's favor in the past three weeks in Michigan?
There is something very weird about the polls. Go read Tom Bonier's substack post from yesterday (he hardly ever posts on Substack but when he does, it's worth reading). I posted a link to it here yesterday. He's a rock star. Along with our Jessica Craven and Simon Rosenberg. The title is "How Trump wins (and how we stop him") or something like that, so it's catchy.
There is a precursor to President-elect Kamala Harris: President Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo, of Mexico. There is an energy in the world now, that speaks to strong women rising up and taking over from insecure, dictatorial men-and all their acolytes, of both sexes.
Why isn’t anyone talking about how important it is to elect Janelle Bynum in Oregon district 5? This is a district that used to always be blue and went red last year. It’s flippable, but I’m not seeing any call for supporting her
Thank you, that makes me feel better! And thanks for all you are doing. I’m Sending 200+ Vote Forward letters to Oregon 05 on Monday, two days before our ballots go out.
Plenty of people are talking about Janelle Bynum ! She is included in Simon Rosenberg’s Winning The House strategy with much money raised /GOTV efforts:
Jess, Thanks again for liking my Why Do You Vote? film! I just learned yesterday that the link to my own youytube channel is not the correct one for the competition. Each of the entries in whydoyou.vote's compettion has a link unique to the competition, so it would be great if we could invite folks to check out my Why Do I Vote? rap, and, if they like it, to vote by clicking the space bar with the heart below the film. Then check out the other entries - there are some very cool ones!! Thank you!
A question I've had for a while (which I'm sure you've discussed somewhere before I signed on as a subscriber) - for those of us who live in very blue states and have fantastic congress and senate reps - do we still send all of these resistbots and phone calls when we already know our reps are 100% with us?
I very much enjoy your daily postings. I thought you might be interested to know that when I attempted to post, on Facebook, the "Democrats Freak Out" item, from the "Grassroots Connector," Facebook refused to make the posting to my main Facebook page, calling it "spam" and in "violation of our community standards." Since the election campaign began, I have had several examples of Facebook doing this - all shutting down progressive political comments. Keep up your great work!!! +Gary Patton, www.gapatton.net.
Just a note of appreciation. I made two calls yesterday - to my senator and congressman - based on the recommendations from your newsletter. Thank you for inspiring and guiding me to take action! It really does lift my spirits to do that.

Tom Bonier is Heather Cox Richardson's go-to person for analyzing polls.
I agree he’s very encouraging.
I also read Jess's recommendation at the top of her essay. Very helpful!
Just donated to Jeff Jackson, the Democrat in NC most likely to pull more Democrats to vote. Love, Doc

Oh I know all kinds of people supporting her! Some who subscribe to this newsletter! And she’s listed in my flip the house document!

Thank you for that reassurance kathy. I did see Hopium’s support last June which seems like eons ago. I guess I was hoping they would do that again.
Jess - a laugh out loud graphic - so well done.

I think it's helpful for them to know that we are paying attention, and reinforces that they should support future similar proposals.

Try copying the link from the web browser and pasting into FB. I'm told that usually works. Let me know!

Thank you so much, Mayla! Proud of you!
