Three more events tomorrow that are REALLY worth attending

I’ve got information on three (hopefully) great events happening early tomorrow; all of them occur before I’ll publish the next newsletter. Thus, a second email today—sorry!

One of these events is with me. But it should be good! The other two sound amazing, but unfortunately they’re at the same time so you’ll have to pick between them.

Here they all are:

1. George Lakey: Successful Models of Non-violent Resistance to Authoritarianism (I think there is a $10 charge for this event—it’s unclear) Thursday, May 15, 2025 at 1:00 PM ET at the Women's National Democratic Club at Dupont Circle in DC AND on Zoom.

   World expert on nonviolent action George Lakey will speak about strategies for resisting authoritarianism. He has built the largest collection on nonviolent action case studies in the world. Lakey has worked in the United States with mineworkers, steelworkers, and civil rights leaders, and internationally with South African anti-apartheid activists and many others. He will draw on his extensive experience to guide us to effective action today.

3. I’ll be doing a Substack Live with Rep. Greg Casar at 11AM PT / 2PM ET tomorrow. Rep. Casar is from Texas’s 35th district; he’s the youngest chair ever of the Congressional Progressive Caucus. We’ll be talking about what’s next for DOGE, what next for Democrats, and how we stop Republicans from taking more rights and freedoms.
