AOC is one of few Dem candidates I could vote for with no concern or regret. She takes no money. She is smart, educated, compassionate, genuine and she understands the assignment. When the trumpstorm began, many Americans felt paralyzed and dems were radio silent. She and Bernie were the first to come out and give some comfort and reassurance. Then she got busy mobilizing while others were going on book tours and padding pockets. AOC all the way.
THIS IS SO GOOD. Bernie, and now AOC, has ALWAYS been right. I got to vote for Bernie in the primary. I'm glad people are finally realizing this, and listening. All of us are FED UP with the coverage of Dem politicians who nit pick the fly sh*t out of the pepper. We know this is all just a click bait game and we hate it. "racehorse politics" Ali is correct: We don't care about her 'stumble'. I for one will NEVER EVER vote for any Republican candidate.
And she doesn't take money from AIPAC! or any pacs. Her money is from citizens. I listen to her videos and she explains issues so I understand what's at stake. She CARES, she sees her role as being FOR the people, not the Bilionaires
Instead of defaulting to horse race conjecture for presidential candidates, can you spend more effort helping people focus and nudge them towards awareness of people in office now or organizing now that are actually addressing the Income Inequality / hold the corrupt accountable issues right now? We need these people to be more visible, more talked about, more talked to. Example, I was really impressed with Waj talking with Michigan’s Senate Candidate, Abdul El-Sayed. That interview changed me. I want more of that, and more urging of us listening to you together assemble a field of actual progressive players to support. The Dem Party needs to either evolve or we need to leave.
Bravo for pointing out the “transactional politicians” and the “non-transactional politicians”. This is why Newsome should not be “in the running”. Yet, I do believe this vein of Corporate-Democrat-group-think runs the Dem party, and they have not been challenged enough by us. We have not truly demanded better. They keep holding “But would you rather have the Gaurdians-of-Pedophilia-Candidate instead? Hard NO. We want better. And BETTER should be BETTER by a lot. Didn’t the Whig party face similar issues in the 1860’s and resulted in the people breaking away and forming the Republican Party that fielded Lincoln? Maybe that’s what we do. Otherwise all we get is Guardians-of-Pedophilia, or Guardians-of-Pedophilia-Lite. I want true accountability, Rule-of-Law, No-One-Is-Above-the Law political party. We can’t win? I watch the AOC’s and the Mamdani’s. They work like hell and connect and then deliver -and lead- the fight we all long to be a part of.
My heart breask on how many climate bills Newsom has killed in California (after we did A LOT of lobbying in Sacramento). How he dare sell himself to Europe as a climate leader! AOC for president!
I have a great idea on A.I. When it comes and builds 1000s of acres. These towns are trying to ask for come concessions, but they need to think long term. Those great payning construction jobs will be gone after construction is over. I say: Demand 50% of the profits of that company! Give it out as guaranteed income.
Yes, those data centers are not big employers once construction is done. The best they can provide is property tax revenue, but since so many communities give these companies tax incentives, the revenue may not amount to much. And, the data centers use an enormous amount of electricity, enough to power a small city.
Regarding Dilley detention center in Texas, Drop Site News reported the following today:
ICE facility in Texas accused of destroying children’s letters.
Staff at an ICE detention center in Dilley, Texas have begun raiding family dormitories to confiscate and destroy letters written by detained children, Pablo Manríquez of Migrant Insider reported on Tuesday. The actions followed investigative reporting by ProPublica journalist Mica Rosenberg and colleagues on conditions inside the facility.

💯
That's why it was called Operation Push! Jesse Jackson was my hometown hero!

Me too, Marsha. I gladly voted for Bernie in the 2016 primary. He was robbed. I still maintain Bernie would have beaten Dump.
My early choices for 2028 prez contenders: AOC and Beto O’Rourke. Also Liz Warren. NO GAVIN.

The stories coming out of Dilley are horrifying 😭 Liam Ramos helped expose what was happening, and we need to get ALL of those kids and parents out.

Newsom is not our guy. I'm from CA and NOPE!
Agree, Leslie. I too am from CA and second your NOPE!
So great to listen to you together! Also, Jesse Jackson was in Grant Park, in Chicago on the night of Obama’s win.

Jeffries not my minority leader !!!!
I was in shock at what a crazy person he sounded like !! Lessons from tDump ??
I looove you guys! Thank you so much for saying what so many of us are thinking. It gives me hope
I guess I'm going to have to start calling Hakeem Jeffries as well as my Congress and Senators in Texas

And they drive up rates for all, not just themselves.
In Minnesota we still mourn the loss of Paul Wellstone. The most earnest political figure ever.
Thank you, Jess and Waj. Excellent conversation.
