It’s men. Can’t they learn to keep it in their pants. Good God.

janet's avatar

They can. They dont want to. They want to hurt women. And doing more interviews with them like she is doing, is why they know they can get away with it.

Steyer SAYS he wants this or that but has no record. He’s never been elected. He should not start with the governors race.

Punkette's avatar

Argh. He actually ran for president first, in 2019, but didn’t get far.

Michelle B's avatar

Completely agree! Shows he has zero humility. If you want to go into public service, be humble and start someplace besides aiming, as if entitled, for the top.

Sunshine and sulfites- Briana,'s avatar

Nope. He is untested. He has no record. He’s been elected to any office.

Punkette's avatar

Shades of Trump in 2016. No thanks!

Johnelle's avatar

I believe he made money investing in detention centers and he’s against the billionaire tax. I just don’t want another billionaire in government. Enough already!

Michelle Gallagher's avatar

Ro Khanna endorsed Steyer - he is FOR the Billionare Tax see his positions in Ro's post https://x.com/RoKhanna/status/2043431241890865283

Johnelle's avatar

He was just interviewed and said there are other ways to raise the money without the billionaire tax. I went to his website and he doesn’t mention the billionaire tax. I don’t trust him.

Les M's avatar

I thought I was the only Dem Californian who would not back Newsom. I like Porter and I don't care if she yells. More women need to yell. I wanted Klobuchar.

Michelle Gallagher's avatar

Ro Khanna endorses Steyer. Steyer has been in legislative politics for ever (14 years). Example remember the tobacco tax - that was Rob Reiner (RIP) and Steyer - it now provides major funding for education! He was also on Obama's top advisors to get us out of the "Financial Crisis" the list goes on and is massive. He gets things done - more so than any other person running. Ro's endorsement here including a video of Steyer's top issues - he is the real thing for our candidate https://x.com/RoKhanna/status/2043431241890865283

Steyer is still invested in private equity and he’s using false maga talking points against Becerra in his attack ads.

He’s just a billionaire billionareing.

Punkette's avatar

Good grief. I admit I live in the boondocks of SoCal, but I never heard a peep about Swalwell’s transgressions, though it’s apparently been an open secret in the Beltway and elsewhere since as early as 2017. I always viewed him as Mister Squeaky Clean Dedicated Family Guy. Boy, do I feel tricked, and I’m not even in his district. Why the F was he allowed to run for Governor? Does the California Democratic Party not vet its top candidates? They either majorly dropped the ball, or it was a set-up from the beginning. And now our governor’s race is a total mess. Grrr. I am pissed. Californians deserve better.

Becerra accomplished nothing as head of HHS. Thurmond had real issues as Sup of Schools. I think our best option is Yee, but don't think she can get traction. That leaves Porter and Steyer as the next bests. I think the rap against Porter is very misogynistic, and that pisses me off. She gets stuff done and goes up against power and corruption. We need that in Sacramento.

Cynthia Hecker's avatar

As Cal DA, Becerra successfully tackled Trump 1 excesses.

Worth noting who of Tom Steyer, Katie Porter, Xavier Becarra, Antonio Villagairosa, etc. supports the following positions:

1) Abolishing ICE

2) Implementing a billionaires' tax

3) Adopting Medicare for All

3) Refusing to take AIPAC funding

Who? For someone is not on Insta?

Are you on FB? https://www.facebook.com/rebecca.solnit/posts/pfbid0iS9wQrMZT6QNvmQ5fnnw3pjX69oDAvh1hb7Zg1ivHKVojvdd28zfJ7kSufbgYhFFl

If not:

Tom Steyer and Tony Thurmond, are the only candidates who support the Billionaire's tax.

Tom Steyer, Katie Porter, and Tony Thurmond are the only candidates who support CalCare (Medicare for all in California).

Tom Steyer, Katie Porter, and Tony Thurmond are the only candidates who support abolishing ICE.

Tom Steyer and Katie Porter are not getting AIPAC money. (I actually don't know about Tony Thurmond, but others have taken AIPAC money)

Constance Clare-Newman's avatar

not on FB either! but yes to BlueSky. Xavier Becerra supports ICE?

Pam Birkenfeld's avatar

Not to mention abortion rights

Marnie Screams Into the Void's avatar

I watched a debate done by Nuestra Voz w/all the Dem candidates and it turned me off Villagaroisa even more - he was on board with facial recognition use by ICE. Hard NO for me.

Michelle B's avatar

This is what a pro Israel stance means.

https://www.instagram.com/reel/DXQ6FjajPPW/?igsh=NTc4MTIwNjQ2YQ==

He has blood on his hands.

Michelle B's avatar

While none of them are great, Katie has the most clear stance on not supporting Israel.

Michelle B's avatar

Tom Past investments in coal mines and private ICE detention centers undercut his progressive brand. Never held elected office. Is trying to buy

the election.

Michelle Gallagher's avatar

He left that biz in 2014 b/c his company would not divest in fossil fuels. He also works against ICE and wants to abolish. Here's Ro Khanna's endorsement including a video of Steyer's top issues - he is the real thing for our candidate https://x.com/RoKhanna/status/2043431241890865283

Michelle B's avatar

he is another born with a silver spoon, unearned privileged old white guy. Very disappoint for Ro. Tom has nothing but words, nothing to show. Tax deductions for his donations…

Michelle B's avatar

In this case, Ro is wrong and I let him know. Who cares of Tom doesn't take AIPAC funding. He is buying, or trying to, buy the election. Katie is the only one who wants to pull back on sending money to Israel. Tom wants to continue. He speaks with fork tongue and people aren't looking deep. Katie has a grassroots campaign. And SHE isn't take AIPAC blood money.

Michelle B's avatar

He has no public service. He was born with a silver spoon. He is just another old white guy giving lip service. There is nothing on record because he doesn't have one!! I'm done with the lip service BS. Katie Porter! She has the skills, is clear, brilliant and qualified. Everyone has bad days, she has owned it.

Stephen Hooper's avatar

Katie Porter. She's been known to have barked at people who work for her, but they said that about Amy Klobuchar. When a man barks at people, he's called "decisive." Katie needs help and she will get it.

Valerie Chereskin's avatar

Gov Pritzker is a billionaire but a very good governor.

Punkette's avatar

Jess! Is there a chance you could do a live interview of Betty Yee, and introduce her to us? I was intrigued by your comments that she is the most progressive of all the Dems running for governor, and would be your ideal candidate but she doesn’t have the name recognition. Betty has an impressive resume and decades of valuable experience working for California government (most recently as State Controller for 8 years). I would love to see her interviewed, by you, on your far-reaching platform! Please say yes. 💙

Angie's avatar

That jungle primary is ridiculous.

Melissa KDC's avatar

It was setup to protect Dem incumbents.

M.'s avatar

So sad that Betty Yee isn’t getting recognized.

M.'s avatar

I admire your loyalty but I do hope you’ll reconsider, if she hasn’t pulled miraculously into the top two by then. The whole issue with our primary is that the top two, regardless of party, go on the general ballot, so that’s what people mean when they say we could end up with two Republicans on the ballot for governor in November. 😱😱😱As much as I’d love to vote for her, I doubt I’ll be able. I’ll be going with what’s strategically sound, unfortunately 😭😭😭And yes, Swalwell is on there no matter what at this point, as will be any other candidates, regardless of whether they drop out between now and then. The filing deadline was a while back in March and no one dropped out for that.

Punkette's avatar

Agree, M. I will vote for Betty in our primary on June 2, even if she is forced out of the race beforehand. I heard the ballots have already been printed and Swalwell is on them.

Angie's avatar

What does California have? 55 EC votes or something? Republicans sure want the DNC to f'k this up. Imagine a Republican CA Governor refusing to give those votes to the proper winner of a presidential election. That's what is at stake, California. Get it together.

janet's avatar

Expressing anger, annoyance and frustration is not an "anger problem", sheesh.

Michelle Gallagher's avatar

Having the sec"anger management" issue is. It's on video too. It really is a problem regrettably.

janet's avatar

What, when she told the staffer to get out of her f'n shot? That was nothing. I watched it.

Mo Khan's avatar

Katie Porter is really well connected with Elizabeth Warren. It really goes up against CEOs. I think she blows everyone else out of the water as far as being able to tackle oligarchs

Constance Clare-Newman's avatar

Katie Porter would not have "anger issues" or "ego issues" if she was a man! Please get behind her NOW!

She's super competent and ready to go.

Pamela Fender's avatar

Jane Fonda has endorsed Steyer because of his stance on climate.

No billionaires!

Betty's avatar

Steyer will protect us from ICE
