I've Got Workshops Coming Up! 📣

Hi, all. Sorry for the extra email, but I’m giving some free workshops in the next two weeks, and I wanted to invite you!

First, on Friday, April 22nd—Earth Day!—at 1:00 pm PT/4:00 pm ET I’ll be hosting “An Hour to Take Care of Our Planet” with the JANE Club. This is a workshop focused on tangible and actionable items we can all take to help mitigate the climate crisis and better protect our planet. RSVP here and definitely tell your friends!

Second, I have a bunch of Activism 101s. “Strays” are welcome at all of them, so if you want to attend one just email me and I’ll send you the registration info.

Here’s a description of the workshop:

Activism 101 is a free, one-hour (ish) webinar for people of varying levels of experience with activism and/or political action. It’s for folks who’ve never helped win *any* election, and for those who merely need a refresher on what actions work best. It’s a survey course with one goal: to give those who are frightened and anxious about the state of our country simple, bite-sized actions they can take to help hold the House, expand the Senate, win down-ballot races, and basically make good things happen in November and beyond. It’s offered by Jessica Craven, a mom, veteran activist, elected member of the Los Angeles County Democratic Party, TikTok creator, and author of daily political action email “Chop Wood, Carry Water.”

In the workshop Craven will go over several forms of “entry-level” actions, like postcarding, letter writing, text and friend banking, micro-fundraising, making SMART donations, phonebanking, and canvassing. She’ll also address some of the fears that keep us from doing these things and explain why each and every person’s actions DO matter. Finally, she’ll give each participant a google doc packed with resources and opportunities to volunteer. The idea is for each participant to leave feeling empowered and clear on at least one small thing they can—and will!—do to help us win in November.
