I was suspicious when I started getting emails from No Surrender and especially when they asked if I was going to a No Kings protest.
When I looked into them I found "nosurrenderusa" refers to Never Surrender, Inc., a leadership Political Action Committee (PAC) affiliated with Donald J. Trump. It was established after the 2024 election and converted from his presidential campaign committee.
So I regard No Surrender to be a fake MAGA operated front-end claiming to be anti-Trump and collecting information and donations from liberals.
I encourage everyone to do due diligence on this group and all others that seem to have an appealing message. Don’t be misled.
The first thing that popped into my head when I read "Hormone therapies for menopause will no longer carry a black box warning. An FDA official said the warnings are based on outdated science and have discouraged women from taking hormone therapy" is do we trust this coming from RFK JR?
I think there’s overwhelming evidence at this point that hormone therapy is safe and that the scare tactics were rooted in misogyny and misunderstanding. I know I use them and I’m very grateful for them.
Physicians / gynecologists (& even my oncologist & surgeon) have been lobbying for this for years based on more recent, reliable studies done long after that original awful “study” the warning was based on. Long before this regime and the 🧠 🪱 guy were in charge. 🙌🏻
That was my sense as well. Normally, I would not trust anything coming out of this administration, but this felt like something that had been coming for a long time. I have heard it from my own physicians.
It is absolutely correct that the black box warning should be removed from vaginal estrogen. From systemic estrogen it is less clear. It may or may not be the correct answer but the science the decision was based on was not high quality data.

I feel more hopeful than I have in a long time and am in the midst of writing postcards to encourage people in Tennessee to vote in the December 2nd Special Election for U.S. Congress. Also, sent my message to SiriusXM to get rid of Megyn Kelly thanks to the newsletter you posted either yesterday or the day before. Thank you for all you do!
Christian stewardship...something sorely lacking in the maga folks who call themselves Christian. As always, it's a bit hard to pick out my favorite bit of good news, but I am pretty sure it's the couple of entries about Americans taking concrete action to restore things to the nations that were here before the white people came..pretty neat that three of the entries were about such positive steps! And just to maintain my reputation for being a bit snarky, it's good to see the story about trump getting booed included, and that folks in other parts of the world also hate the trump family and their desire to exploit everything, and of course seeing tesla falling 18%..all good stuff (I hope by now anyone who bought Tesla stock because they believed that the company was good and would be good for the environment long ago sold their stock). Whether we are Christians or not, let's all try to practice Christian stewardship (stuff like take care of both the natural world and all humanity) this week and always! And let's rejoice in knowing there are indeed many many good things happening and thank Jess for compiling these lists which we can not get anywhere else...mostly not even one at a time, but never as nice list like this!
