Hi, all,
So sorry. The number I gave you for Citi is wrong, and I’ve yet to hear back from Stop the Money Pipeline with the correct one. Please disregard that action for now. I always try to make the calls I give you first so that I’ve vetted the numbers, but, because it’s my last day in Nova Scotia, this time I didn’t. Apologies!
While I have you here, though, a good organization I follow called Climate Power suggested making donations here to help our friends in Maui:
The Hawai’i Community Foundation’s Maui Strong Fund was created to support resilience within the Hawaiian community by providing resources for disaster preparedness, response, and recovery. This fund is currently being used to support communities affected by the wildfires on Maui.
If you know of other good places please drop them in the comments. Let’s all send what we can, if we can.
OK, all. Have a great weekend! See you on Sunday with a particularly well-stocked “Extra! Extra!”
Jess
I have a dear friend who lives in Hilo on the windward (wet) side of the "big island". I knew she was safe but asked how she was coping.
Her response: "Moving from deep sadness to action."
Knowing nothing of the charitable organizations in Hawai'i, I asked for a recommendation.
Here is her suggestion: "My preference is Honpa Hongwanji Mission of Hawaii 1727 Pali Highway, Honolulu, HI 96813. Mark it for Maui assistance."
Blessings and thanks to all. (This also posted in Today's Edition by Robert Hubbell)
Thank you, Jessica. I found the Hawai'i Community Foundation, whilst looking for a "closer to the ground" pipeline for contributions.
