Hi, all!
A couple more important things:
Movement Voter Fundāwhom I revereāis also raising money for the GA runoffsāspecifically for their partner group,Ā Georgia Alliance for Progress, who will quickly deployĀ funds to the field.Ā This is the link for anyone who wants to donate: Ā Movement.vote/GA
Demcast, being the tireless geniuses that they are, already have a Georgia runoff social media toolkit up and running! They will be updating it regularly. Use it to easily amplify this race on any of your social media platforms. Find it here.
If you hadnāt already decided to attend one of the other 3 events happening tonight at 5PM PT / 8 PM ET, the Center For Common ground is also having one. They have a strong focus on Southern states, voter suppression, and Black voters, so their expertise in all things Georgia is real. They will go over:
Voter turnout numbers and what they mean
How many voters they called, postcarded, texted and canvassed
Next steps for mobilizing Georgia voters in the runoffs
And hereās an event I thought many of you wouldnāt want to miss, as I know you all love Tom Bonier! Itās tomorrow at noon ET, which is why Iām sending this out now:
2022 ELECTION RECAP from the Grassroots with Network NOVA!
This week's Friday Power Lunch will be a first look at and unpack of the 2022 Midterms.
We will discuss the data with Tom Bonier, Executive Director at TargetSmart. Tom is a successful strategic planner, let's listen to him unpack the date and election results to date!
Then, we will discuss Virginiaās Congressional races and results with KĆ©ren Charles Dongo, State Director, Office of United States Senator Tim Kaine. Dongo has been a major mover and shaker within the Virginia Democratic Party, helped draft and rouse support for ā400 Years of African American History Act,ā and served as deputy field director at the One Campaign.
Finally, we will hold a Grassroots Roundtable with three notable leaders who have been knee-deep in elections and democratic politics: Lynlee Thorne, Political Director for Rural GroundGame, Jimmy Rogers, GOTV Director for the Wexton Campaign, and Luisa Boyarski, Coordinator of the Virginia Grassroots Coalition.
This group is VA focussed, but this event will have lots of relevant info for everyone. Register here.
Finally, I went and put everything Georgia-runoff-related I have into one document. Iāll keep adding things as I find them. Itās here. Please use and share!
OK. I really am going to try to take tomorrow off. If I succeed you will hear from me on Monday!
Sending hugs.
Jess
I am begging you to take the day off for a much-deserved rest!!!!!What you have sent us today will keep us well-stocked and up to date with actions. Thanks SO much.
Oh and youāre welcome ( I canvassed in my home town Philly)š
Jessica - we need to get the word out to college students who need to apply for an absentee ballot to be sent to their home address. When they come back for Thanksgiving, they can vote and their parents can drop off the ballot for them.
