Hi, all, and happy Thursday.

Did you know that next Tuesday is National Voter Registration Day? In light of that, I thought that it might be fun for us to do a challenge. For the next week, let’s make a point of asking EVERYONE we know whether they’re registered to vote. Baristas at Starbucks, co-workers, nannies, fellow parents at the playground, bookclub friends, your mechanic. Everyone! And don’t forget family members—unless they’re MAGAs, of course.

I have a QR code sticker on the back of my phone so I can easily help folks register at a moment’s notice. Here’s one you can save in your phone (you can also download it here):

I promise to ask at least 3 people if they’re registered this week, and to help them if they’re not. Will you commit to this as well?

This is how we do it, all. One voter at a time.

Democracy is a potluck party. If we all bring a dish, we’ll have a great meal.

For the next seven days let the “dish” be voter registration, all day every day.

There are a couple of bills that will be coming to a vote soon and that I’d really like to see pass in the Senate. They are S. 3071, the Social Security 2100 A Sacred Trust Act, to expand and protect Social Security, S 2992 the American Innovation and Choice Online Act, to finally rein in Big Tech, and S 264 the DREAM Act—this is critical as Republicans are ramping up their threats to have Dreamers deported. Please ensure the Senator supports all 3 bills. Thanks.

The price of insulin has skyrocketed in recent years, with the three manufacturers — Sanofi, Novo Nordisk and Eli Lilly — raising the list prices of their products in near lock step. Meanwhile, the American people who voted you in to improve our lives suffer daily. Put a stop to this now! Pass a cap on insulin prices under private sector insurance and save lives!

Healthcare and drug prices are top issues for me. I am watching and I want to see Congressional action on drug prices, and insulin prices in particular. Thanks.
