Hi, all.
Taking a day off today, because it’s too beautiful here to stay inside working. The Bluenose is out—(see above) so I feel I need to be, too.
Below are a few quick things to keep you tided over until I can send you a proper newsletter tomorrow. THANK YOU FOR UNDERSTANDING!

Call Your DEMOCRATIC Senators (find yours here)
Hi, I'm a constituent calling from [zip]. My name is ______. I know the Senate is getting close to a vote on the Inflation Reduction Act and I want to say again that this bill MUST pass. We need it. Please ask the Senator to do everything they can to make sure it does. Thanks.

More evidence that the New York Times Op-Ed was wrong:
Last year in Virginia, Center For Common Ground volunteers left over 10,000 voicemails and had over 1,000 conversations with Black registered voters in a specific set of targeted counties and cities.
The results are in: voicemails caused 16% greater turnout than voters in the same group who were not contacted by volunteers.
And live conversations? Increased turnout by 47%.
They now turn to Florida, where they are calling Black voters for the upcoming primary on August 23. Early voting begins soon, and the time to start calling is now!
Now that you know phone calls work, will you sign up to call voters with them?
A Related Get Smart!
To learn more about Center For Common Ground’s current campaign to call Florida voters (see above), join their webinar tonight where they will be joined by two important advocates for voting rights - Florida State Senator Shevrin Jones, who founded Operation BlackOut, and Eric Tangarife, the Lead Organizer from RideShare2Vote.
This is going to be very inspiring, trust me.
Sign Up for the Webinar today, Thursday, August 4 at 8PM ET
OK, you did it again! You helped save democracy! You’re amazing.
