Hi, all, and happy Wednesday!
My goodness. What a dizzying time to be alive! The progress and momentum we’re seeing on our side of the political spectrum is just astonishing right now.
Here are just a few of the many awesome and exciting data points I’ve gathered in the last few days:
The Republicans For Harris call last night had 60,000 people on it. Yes, you read that right! Sixty thousand.
New polling has Harris creeping up on Trump in Florida.
In Wisconsin, the Harris-Walz campaign had 13,000 conversations with voters over the weekend.
In Nevada, they are running the largest in-state operation of any coordinated campaign ever, with 13 offices and nearly 100 staff on the ground.
In Arizona, the campaign has 12 coordinated offices with six more to come—the most of any Arizona coordinated campaign in history. The campaign has hired more than 120 full-time staff, with offices in every corner of the state
According to Talking Points Memo “More Republicans than Democrats were registering to vote in Pennsylvania and North Carolina all year until Kamala Harris entered the race, when the advantage flipped and Democratic registrations began outpacing Republican ones.”
Later today there’s a Zoom call for Evangelicals For Harris. Tomorrow there’s Hollers for Harris and Train Lovers for Harris/Walz. AMAZING!
The internals of the latest NYT/Siena poll show Trump’s margin among non-college-educated whites in the Blue Wall states of Pennsylvania, Michigan, and Wisconsin have shrunk from +25 against Biden to +14 against Harris.
According to Greg Sargent: “A new poll — apparently the first large-sample poll of Latinos since Kamala Harris became presumptive Democratic nominee…finds that Harris holds a nearly 20-point lead over Donald Trump among Hispanics in the battleground states, a surprisingly large expansion of Biden’s ailing support among them.” And she apparently has lots of room to grow!
More than 11,000 Ohioans have signed up to volunteer with the Ohio Dems since July 21st.
And a new Monmouth poll finds a huge shift in enthusiasm in the presidential race. “While the number of voters who were at least somewhat enthusiastic about the Trump versus Biden rematch had been increasing throughout the year, it never topped 50%. Now that the contest is Trump versus Harris, voter enthusiasm has risen to 68%. The biggest jump has been among Democrats (from 46% in June to 85% now), but there has also been a notable increase in enthusiasm among independents (from 34% to 53%).
I could keep going—and there’s lots more just from the last few days in my latest good-news video—but you get the idea. It is a deeply heartening time to be alive, and it’s all happening because people like you stuck it out when there seemed to be no hope at all. You chopped wood. You carried water. You kept us alive until the latest crisis passed. And now we’re here.
Which is infinitely better.
I can’t tell you how proud of you I am.
We don’t have this in the bag. Not even close. But if we keep doing what we’re doing we’re going to keep getting what we’re getting. And that, my friends, is WINS.
So let’s get to work one more time.
Call Your Senators (find yours here) 📲
Hi, I'm a constituent calling from [zip]. My name is ______.
I understand that Senator Manchin has introduced another “dirty permitting deal” aimed at fast tracking fossil fuel expansion. It’s called the Energy Permitting Reform Act of 2024, and it’s bad. It’s a direct attack on our climate and the communities on the frontlines of fossil fuel extraction.
One particularly dangerous section of this bill would lock in greenhouse gas emissions equivalent to 165 coal-fired power plants by fast tracking dozens of LNG export terminals currently paused by the Biden administration. No way! Please ask the Senator to oppose this bill and please let them know that climate is a top issue for me. Thanks. [H/T Oil Change International]

China is building clean energy at a completely unprecedented speed and scale. It’s AMAZING!
Let’s help encourage the U.S. to speed up our own clean-tech work by telling American newspapers to report more on China’s deployment boom!

Spread the Word! 📣
In light of Donald Trump’s recent disastrous X conversation with Elon Musk—during which they mocked striking workers and likely violated federal labor law—the Harris-Walz team put out a set of talking points about Trump’s (and Vance’s) awful record on unions and workers. Please share!
While Vice President Harris has spent her life fighting for working families, Trump has attacked workers and labor for decades and JD Vance is no different.
Trump rolled back protections for workers’ pay and safety, lost more than 150,000 manufacturing jobs during his final year, and eviscerated 839,000 energy workers’ jobs — a 10% drop
He oversaw major plants close across the country, including a GM plant in Warren, Michigan, and several steel plants in Pennsylvania
Trump tried to gut the Registered Apprenticeship system through his IRAP proposal, resulting in fewer career opportunities and lower wages for the next generation of workers
Hundreds of workers and contractors accused Trump of not paying his bills over the years
Meanwhile, Vance adamantly opposes the PRO Act
Vance also cosponsored the Teamwork for Employees and Managers Act, which would undermine the ability of workers to collectively bargain
Meanwhile, the Trump-Vance anti-worker agenda for a second term would be even worse. Their plan…
Questions if public-sector unions should be allowed to exist
Attacks the ability for unions to organize
Allows employers to stop paying overtime to certain employees
Weakens union labor safety and prevailing wage laws
The Trump-Vance agenda also promises to:
Trigger a recession by mid-2025 that will cost over 3 million jobs
Raise costs for families by $2,500 per year
Give handouts to billionaires on the backs of working families
Dismantle the Biden-Harris American manufacturing boom

Let's help win Arizona!
Indivisible/Swing Left South Bay LA has been writing Vote Forward letters to voters in Arizona all year. Biden won Arizona in 2020 by less than 10,000 votes and there are critical races up & down the ballot. With the Kamalamenon, volunteer attendance is through the roof and they are now on track to send 50,000 + letters to low propensity voters, trying to get them to the polls!
But with this good news, is the bad news: they need help funding stamps! ISBLA needs to raise upwards of $10k in 6 weeks. Can you help? Donate here. Let's make sure all of those letters are sent and we win this crucial state!
Win Races! 🗳
Friendly reminder that sign-ups for postcards to swing states are back open! So far this year, volunteers have placed more than 67,297 orders for 20.8 million postcards — a truly stunning level of collective activism.
As a result of record-setting enthusiasm, PTSS is expanding their GOAL to 36 MILLION POSTCARDS! You can sign up today to write postcards to rally Democrats to vote in Arizona, Florida, Georgia, Michigan, Nevada, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, Texas, Wisconsin, as well as in competitive US House districts in many other states. They'll re-open up sign-ups for Montana and Ohio in about two weeks. These cards are free but you do have to sign up for at least 200. You do have until October to write them, though—in fact they CAN’T be sent before then.
Win Races—Help Newly Registered Voters in PA!
Red2Blue supports voter registration in Pennsylvania by making follow up calls to newly registered voters, working in partnership with The New Pennsylvania Project and Project 26. NPP registers voters of color across PA, and Project 26 registers college students. On these calls you will find out if the new registrant got their voter card, and help complete the process if they did not. R2B also calls these new voters before the election to help them over any barriers to their voting.

[To: your HOUSE Rep] [H/T Americans For Contraception] [Text text SIGN PZUMHX to Resistbot at 50409 or via Apple Messages / WHATSAPP / MESSENGER]
The majority of Americans believe that birth control should be legal and accessible. So I was shocked to learn that the House Appropriations Committee has approved a plan to eliminate funding for Title X, a program millions of Americans rely on for family planning services.
Without Title X, more than two million Americans, most of whom are below the poverty line, will be left without their primary source of birth control, and reproductive health care services such as cancer screenings and STI testing. This will lead to more unintended pregnancies and even deeper economic disparities in our country. I urgently ask you to vote against this bill and protect Title X.
I’ll be watching this vote closely. Access to contraception, and reproductive healthcare in general, is a top issue for me. Thanks.
OK, you did it again! You helped save democracy! You’re amazing.
Talk soon.
Jess
Eliminating funding for Title X/contraception is right out of the Project 2025 playbook.📣
The Heritage Foundation posted:”Conservatives have to lead the way in restoring sex to its true purpose, & ending recreational sex & senseless use of birth control”.

Thanks so much for amplifying the work of Indivisible/ Swing Left South Bay LA. I’ve been part of this group for a while and many, many people are working their letter-writing fingers to the bone every week. Postage dollars are indeed urgently needed. Thank you also for Chop Wood, Carry Water!
