Hi, all, and happy Friday.
As you’ll see below, I’m on a tear today about the FBI’s failure to investigate tips about Brett Kavanaugh. To me this is an inflection point; it’s critical for us to make a deafening amount of noise about it.
We’ve already seen a failure on the part of Democrats to fully put the screws on folks who worked with the Trump administration to subvert the law and/or break critical norms. In this case, Christopher Wray’s abdication of his duty to follow up on these tips is a massive betrayal, and Kavanaugh’s continued presence on the court a painful slap in the face to every sexual assault survivor in America.
Whenever I feel that burn of outrage in my gut I can do one of two things: curl up in a fetal position and mourn that “the bad guys always win,” or stand up, channel that rage into my voice, and get extremely loud.
I choose the latter. I hope you do, too.
Call Your Senators (find yours here)
Hi, I'm a constituent calling from [zip]. My name is ______.
I’m incredibly frustrated about new reports that the FBI ignored 4,500 tips about Brett Kavanaugh before his confirmation. I want the Senator to call for Christopher Wray to be fired. I also want them to call for a new investigation into whether or not Kavanaugh did indeed attempt to rape Christine Blasey Ford. I think we also need to know how his enormous credit card debt disappeared mysteriously right before he was confirmed.
If the DOJ or the FBI won’t open a new investigation I want the Senate to launch its own investigation into whether Kavanaugh committed perjury. A Senate committee could interview the witnesses the FBI never spoke to, and collect the FBI tips the Trump White House apparently buried. We need to get to the bottom of this. Thanks.

Let’s Stand With Frito-Lay Workers!
Watch this or read this. Frito Lay is treating its workers appallingly and 500 of them have been striking since July 5th. We can help by boycotting all Frito-Lay and PepsiCo products and by sending this email (click yes when it asks if you want to open it in your Mail program. It’ll autopopulate an email, which you can personalize and send.)
Extra Credit
Let’s call the DOJ’s comment line at 202-353-1555 (press 9) and say something like:
“My name is _____ I live in _______. I’m frustrated and angry that the FBI ignored 4,500 tips about Brett Kavanaugh. I understand they can re-open an investigation into him if the DOJ asks them to, and I would like the DOJ to do just that. We need to know if Brett Kavanaugh committed sexual assault, and it would also be good to know how his massive credit card debt disappeared mysteriously right before he was confirmed. Thanks.”

Stop Line 3!
Please send this email to the Army Corps of Engineers here. (Select Executive Office on the drop down menu)
At this very moment, treaty rights are being violated and our waters poisoned by construction runoff from the Line 3 oil pipeline led by Enbridge Energy, the company responsible for the largest domestic oil spills in United States history.
Spewing the emissions equivalent of over 50 coal-powered plants and crossing more than 227 lakes and rivers, Line 3 threatens the drinking water of 18 million people and accelerates our climate emergency.
The U.S. is treaty-bound to uphold the rights of the Anishinaabe people. A threat to the Mississippi headwaters is a threat to wild rice–– the economic, nutritional, and cultural resource of the Anishinaabeg.
We need a federal environmental impact statement to assess threats to treaty rights, water protection, and climate.
Honor the treaties. Stop Line 3. Thanks.

I’m incredibly frustrated about new reports that the FBI ignored 4,500 tips about Brett Kavanaugh before his confirmation.
First of all, Christopher Wray should be fired. Period. And if Merrick Garland doesn’t pursue this, then he should be too. I’ve had enough of going easy on GOP malfeasance.
Second, I want you to push for a new investigation into whether or not Kavanaugh did indeed attempt to rape Christine Blasey Ford. I think we also need to know how his enormous credit card debt disappeared mysteriously right before he was confirmed.
If the DOJ or the FBI won’t open a new investigation I want you to push Congress to launch its own investigation into whether Kavanaugh committed perjury. OK, you did it again! You helped save democracy! You’re amazing.
