Hi, all, and happy Friday!
So often when I compose this newsletter I find myself thinking “They’re going to think I’m lazy for just repeating the same calls day after day.”
I’m not, though, I promise! There’s a method to my madness.
We repeat calls about voting rights, climate change, and the filibuster—to name a few—because these are things that require what I like to call a “wall of noise.” It’s the same tactic we used to stop the GOP’s attempt to kill the Affordable Care Act in 2017, and it works. We call. We call again. We call the next day. And the day after that.
We absolutely flood them with calls.
Remember, our representatives are not tallying WHO calls. They are simply tallying how many calls they get each day. So let’s make sure it’s in the hundreds, or even thousands. It really does determine which issues they put their focus on.
So let’s get to building that wall—of noise—one more time.
Call Your Senators (find yours here)
Hi, I'm a constituent calling from [zip]. My name is ______.
First, I support making the Child Tax Credit permanent, and hope the Senator will fight to include such a provision in the upcoming budget bill.
Second, I support both the bipartisan infrastructure bill and the larger one to be passed using reconciliation. We need everything in these bills—especially the climate provisions—and I want them to be paid for by taxing the superrich and increasing IRS enforcement.
Finally, I want the Senator to make passing a voter protection bill a top priority. Our democracy is under assault. It can’t stand.
[If Dem add:] We cannot let Republicans hold our democracy hostage. It’s time to eliminate the filibuster to save our democracy.
Call Your House Rep (find yours here)
Hi, I'm a constituent calling from [zip]. My name is _______.
The news stories of Pentagon leaders’ preparations for a potential coup attempt is terrifying. The January 6 committee needs to aggressively pursue a full accounting of the assault on our Capitol; if it doesn’t, we’ll be laying the groundwork for another one. Will the Congressmember call for this? [H/T]

More WV Postcarders Needed Pleeeeeeease!
We have 16,000 more West Virginia voters to write to by the end of July. Can you write some postcards? If you already have can you write more? Do you know others who will write cards or letters?
So far we have written to 75,000 West Virginians. They are calling Manchin but we need to keep the pressure up.
If you are able to help please send an email to mary.boergers@yahoo.com and she can get you a list of voters and the script (you can also ask for letters if you prefer to write those). Tell her I sent you.
Get on the Phones! ☎️
All in for NC is supporting North Carolina Asian Americans Together, (NCAAT), as they work to re-register over 6,000 purged Asian-American (AAPI) voters. Phone banks, which will support their door-to-door canvassing outreach, are here: NCAAT Phone Banks. They are hosting these events multiple times a week, so check out when would work for you.
Resistbot Text (new to Resistbot? Go here!)
[to all 3 reps] [H/T]
I am one of your constituents asking you to support the Break Free from Plastic Pollution Act (S 984 and HR 2238).
Plastic production has skyrocketed and fenceline communities are being unjustly harmed by this increased production. From oil extraction and pipeline transport to pollution from petrochemical facilities, local residents - disproportionately Black, Indigenous, and Latino communities - are threatened in each stage of generating plastic.
Furthermore, the vast majority of plastic is not effectively recycled and instead goes on to harm wildlife and pollute the environment, be buried in landfills, or burned in incinerators. Plastics are causing hundreds of millions of tons of greenhouse gas emissions to enter our atmosphere, accelerating climate change.
The bill aims to end plastic waste at all levels including reducing wasteful, non-recyclable items, addressing pollution from facilities, pushing to increase environmentally friendly reusable options, and improving recycling and compost infrastructure.
Please support this crucial legislation today! Thanks!
OK, you did it again! You helped save democracy! You’re amazing.
Talk tomorrow.
