How U.S. Trade Policy Fuels Mass Migration in Latin America

For years, politicians have misled Americans, fostering hatred against immigrants to hide the truth: it was always about profits over people. Cruelty towards migrants was an acceptable consequence.

A new report by Public Citizen and the National Partnership for New Americans (NPNA) shows that, in fact, working people at home and abroad have suffered from “free trade” policies, which Trump claims to hate but has no intention of fixing.

Join them, congressional leaders, the report author, and activists from front-line communities for a timely discussion on how U.S. trade and immigration policies fuel displacement and drive labor exploitation, while corporations profit and migrants pay the price.
