Hi, all, and happy Friday!
Hurrah for long weekends! I think we all need one badly.
Speaking of which, I’ve been amazed to see how many of you used my link to sign up for Monday’s workshop on “Sustaining Our Activism With Self Care.” Clearly we are an exhausted group! But also one that’s willing to learn new tools for self-care! I truly hope this webinar brings the comfort and calm so many are craving, and teaches us great new tactics to use so we can continue working towards a victory in November—one I am certain we can achieve if we only don’t give up.
So let’s get some rest, take walks, cuddle with our pets, and/or hug our kids. Replenishing ourselves often is the only way we can power ourselves to show up daily with our small but critical actions.
And critical they are.
As are you.
As are WE.
Don’t ever, ever doubt it.
Call Your Senators (find yours here)
Hi, I'm a constituent calling from [zip]. My name is ______.
I understand that last night Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer filed cloture on S. 1975, the Women’s Health Protection Act, setting up a vote for February 28, when the Senate returns from the President’s Day recess.
[If Dem except Manchin:] I want the Senator to vocally support this bill and fight tooth and nail to get it passed. Will s/he? Thanks.
[If GOP or Manchin]: I want the Senator to vote yes on this bill. Americans overwhelmingly support protecting abortion rights. Will s/he vote yes?
[To all:] Also please ask the Senator to vote yes on all of President Biden’s Federal Reserve nominees—including Sarah Bloom Raskin. Thanks.
Call Your House Rep (find yours here)
Hi, I'm a constituent calling from [zip]. My name is _______.
I’d like the Congressmember to support the Protecting Election Administration from Interference Act of 2021 (H.R. 5053) to protect election workers from violent threats and strengthen election security. Thank you. [H/T]
Hold Corporations Accountable! 🛒
This Sunday, February 20th, at 12:00 PM PST/ 3:00 PM EST, a couple of wonderful activists have organized a Zoom workshop to present their EXTENSIVE database of corporations who have violated their oath to not give money to Sedition Caucus members. They will then offer us their contact info and sample letters. We’ll even write some together! YES!
The meeting will be hosted by Civic Sundays. The sign-up link is here.
Please join if you can! Cutting off funding to the Sedition Caucus is an important tool in preventing a repeat of 2020.

I'm writing to support COVID release & the commutation of Leonard Peltier's sentence. He’s held at USP-Coleman I in FL. His register number is 89637-132. Please, this is the only decent thing to do.
Leonard is 77 years old. He has serious health problems that cause grave complications in someone his age with COVID: diabetes, an abdominal aortic aneurysm, kidney disease, and high blood pressure. He has also had open heart surgery.
Leonard Peltier’s case is one of the most egregious and wrongful convictions in modern U.S. history. The U.S. railroading of Leonard into prison for 46 years is another example of the government's continued genocidal policies towards the Native Nations and denial of their sovereignty.
Please right this wrong. Commute his sentence and send him home now. Thanks.
Bonus points: sign this petition.
Get Young People REGISTERED! 🧒
[H/T]
Did you know that fewer than 20% of high schoolers who will turn 18 by the 2022 Midterm elections are currently registered to vote?
Research shows that providing young people with the specific information they need to register can increase their participation in elections.
So please share The Civics Center’s voter registration tool with teens, schools, and school boards.
One thing you can do is post something like this on social (I just tweeted it)
Did you know that if you're 17 years old many states will allow you to pre-register to vote?
Or that fewer than 20% of high schoolers who will turn 18 by the midterms are currently registered?
@TheCivicsCenter has an easy tool to fix that! Please share! https://thecivicscenter.org/register
Win Races! 🗳
I made calls with Jessica Cisneros’s campaign for about 40 minutes yesterday before I had to jump into my Arizona phonebank. It was so fun! They have a great dialer and the people I spoke to were all really nice and willing to hear about Jessica.
There are only ten more days left to get Jessica elected—imagine another amazing young progressive in Congress (instead of a pro-life Democrat who doesn’t believe in climate change and voted with Trump 75% of the time).
You can help get Jessica elected by making calls with her campaign tomorrow from 11-1 CST. Sign up here.

Millions of people across America rely on the United States Post Office for getting things done in their lives every day. We must do everything we can to protect and strengthen this vital American institution.
I support S 1720, the Postal Service Reform Act, which recently passed in the U.S. House in a bipartisan vote and is co-sponsored by more than two dozen Republicans and Democrats in the Senate.
Postmaster General Louis DeJoy has called the legislation “vital to the United States Postal Service and the American people” and the Biden administration said it would advance the goal of “ensuring that the Postal Service delivers the highest quality, most reliable service possible to every American.”
As your constituent, I call on you to support the Postal Service Reform Act and save the USPS now.
Also, PLEASE stop Louis DeJoy from ordering all gas-powered vehicles for the new Postal Service fleet. We will never achieve our climate goals if he succeeds in pushing this contract through! These trucks should all be electric! Please make a statement saying so. Thanks.
OK, you did it again! You helped save democracy! You’re amazing.
Talk TUESDAY!
