Hi, all, and happy Halloween!
Deep breaths! We’re 5 days out! Trump is driving garbage trucks and looking like a piece of candy corn (see below), Elon is abusing his paid canvassers, and Harris continues to run a brilliant, disciplined, joyous campaign. Meanwhile, people are voting! Lots of them! And women, as we hoped, are leading the pack, by increasingly large margins! Let’s keep it up! Every vote, every person, every conversation, every changed mind is going to matter.
Speaking of changed minds, after some back and forth I’ve finally decided where I’m going for this final weekend: Mecklenburg County, NC! I’m beyond excited. It’s been a hard decision, honestly, because we desperately need more canvassers here in California, and Nevada and Arizona are both in need as well. Georgia needs poll watchers so badly that I had half a mind to go there (if you are able to do a training and go in my stead sign up here!)
But ultimately the call of Mecklenburg was irresistible. So the flight, hotel, and car are booked! I’m thrilled to say that
and his incredible wife Jill will also be there, and we’ll be appearing at the Meck Dems’s party on Saturday night to rally the troops! Please, if you’re anywhere in the area, come!I’m excited about this weekend, not just for myself, but for all of us, everywhere. I believe we’re going to bring it, and in a huge way. Not just in Mecklenburg, but across the nation. I’m dreaming of busses headed to swing states, of phonebanks full to the bursting, of millions of doors knocked, of voters being driven to the polls, of pollworkers showing up in force, and of people everywhere going the extra mile to win and win big. I hope you’re dreaming of it, too.
Because if we dream it we can make it so.
Remember, history is a thing we create — with our hands, our feet, and our tireless actions. It’s not something written by God or “the fates.” Neither is it random. It’s molded by us, and every move we make, no matter how slight, helps shape it. Never think for a second that your half hour of calls, or single canvassing shift, or one day watching polls, or one weekend in Pennsylvania won’t make a difference. It could make all the difference. Remember, we are many water drops together, creating the deluge that will turn this election our way. No single drop is indispensable, but if every drop says “they can do without me” we are lost.
Fortunately I know you know this. You, my friends, are the ones who show up. Your actions have carried us thus far; they will continue to do so.
So let’s all find a way to “bring our drop,” and bring this thing home. Deep breaths. The end is in sight.

Do Ballot Curing for NC!
There’s still time to make a valuable contribution to winning the election -- by ballot curing for North Carolina. In NC, the presidential race and some down ballot races may be very close. Helping Democrats fix rejected votes could affect whether we win NC’s 16 electoral votes, whether we win state offices and whether we end the GOP’s two-thirds majority in the NC state Senate and the state House.
You will be calling likely Dems whose absentee ballots were rejected by their county Boards of Election. No experience is necessary. Phone bank leaders will provide training for the first 30 minutes and stay on to support you along the way.

This morning I made follow up calls to people we registered to vote over the past couple of months to make sure they knew early voting started today & to see if they needed a ride to the polls. One young man was distraught because he lost his drivers license & he thought he couldn’t vote. I was able to explain to him about alternative acceptable forms of ID and gave him the address of the closest early voting center. He was ecstatic and so grateful for the phone call. You all, #EveryVoteCounts
